I especially like the cones being translucent vs. the older solid cones. I've have already been using them quite often and it's obvious the drivers are more aware. Great deal. Sturdy, light weight, not cheesy. But a slight bump turns them off. It's because the switch is not mechanical, rather it's electronic, and if the battery bounces on the internal flashlight style spring setup, the switch resets. But I found a perfect free easy one minute fix. These wands use two C cell batteries. Buy some modern lithium chargeable ones. Here is the fix for keeping them from bumping and going off. (1) Insert two C cell batteries correctly. (2) Carefully screw the wand together without messing up the plastic threading. (3) Confirm the light works. (4) Unscrew the battery end and push down on the two batteries until you have bottomed out the spring. (5) Note or measure the distance the battery travels into the tube. You are going to make a spacer to fill this distance so that the batteries have no abulity to bounce. Take one battery out. Leave one battery in the tube. (6) Get some aluminum foil and tear off a strip about 3 inches strip. Fold the flat strip to the width you observer the batteries moved, (top of battery to top of contact on tube). (7) Now roll the strip into a spacer until it just slides into the tube. This fabrication may take a few attempts, but once you make the right size, you will know. (8) Take electric tape or duct tape and cover around of the spacer to insolate it from the ground running inside the tube, and also firm up your spacer. Be sure not to make it a electric short. Cover the sides a little past the ends Note that only the flat ends of your roll are exposed to touch the batteries only. It should kind of look like a little stubby C battery. It should be able to fit the tube just like a battery. You might make it the wrong size on your first attempt, but it's very easy to adjust. (9) The spacer goes between the two batteries. If you did well, the batteries with the spacer you made to fit between them will push all the way in and leave no slop. (10) Carefully reassemble the light, it will be tight, but will work. Now you have solved the bump off problem for free. ... show more

These traffic wands were bought for my building administrator. Not only do they bring joy to me each morning as Vice Principal Joe plays his "Motivational" stretching music before picking up the traffic wands to head to our high school's busy parking lot, they bring attention to the students crossing the traffic lanes. Despite the price, they are a great value. Unfortunately, one wand slipped out of Vice Principal Joe's hand and was ran over by a parent's car. After a quick student rescue, one of our front office staff was able to put it back together and it still works perfectly.
