If you’re a new golfer or someone who has played the game for years, every golfer needs to develop a short game if they want to eliminate unnecessary strokes and shoot a lower score. Daniel Grieve is one of the best coaches of the short game in the world and now you can benefit from his coaching experience to improve your game around the green. This book and Dan Grieve’s videos on YouTube have revolutionized my golf short game. I have gone from a very inconsistent short game golfer to someone who performs well below my handicap from 75 yards in. Dan’s systematic approach to teaching the basics of the short game is easy to understand and reasonably easy to implement with sufficient practice. The book provides the framework to become a good short game player. Adding in his videos on his YouTube channel helps one go from good to very good. I can’t recommend this book highly enough to golfers either new to the game or who continually struggle with short game shots and don’t know why. ... show more

Dan is an wizard when he gets a wedge in his hand and this book does a great job of relaying THE BASICS of establishing a smart, consistent, and reliable short game. The terminology and explanations in the book are straight to the point and very understandable at first read. The images that accompany the text are also top tier quality to really highlight the key areas of importance when developing your green side chipping AS WELL AS the dreaded ‘feel’ shots on approach. I can’t recommend this book enough if you’re serious about trying to score, especially beginners. I’ve always take pride in my short game but this book really has made me feel like there is no spots on my local muni’s where I would be completely hopeless. That’s an incredible confidence boost to take into a round. Don’t focus on hitting the ball 300+ yards off the tee…focus on chipping/pitching because that’s where it can really make or break the card. Dan is the man if you are looking to develop your short game shots as well as your course management when it comes to different types of lies we deal with on the course throughout the year. TL;DR if you’re serious about golf and want to put that go-to never going to shank chip shot in the bag as well as the ‘im screwed’ bail out shot that ya might not need often but when you do, you’ll be glad you looked to Dan for the info, he’s the best in the business in my humble 16 handicap opinion. This book contains a lot of really good information. The explanations and pictures were quite well done. I would of liked to of seen additional explanations or demonstrations with all the short game shots around female amateur golfers, taking into account the differences in strength and distance capabilities and clubs that would be needed to accomplish the short game shots. Overall this book is good and look forward to testing the short game shots out during golf practice and play! ... show more

    • Tremendous Instruction From Best Short Game Guru On The Planet !!

Easy to understand concepts presented in a clear concise manner. Learn this book and you will produce better scores. Not saying you won't have to practice to learn Grieves' system but the payoff is well worth the meager price. Have a low single digit handicap, been playing for a looonnnggg time, and I completely polished / retooled my short game with this instructor. I watched a lady in her 60's go from complete novice newbie golfer into the 70's mostly because of Grieves' book... so I decided to give it a try. Despite historically low scoring, I abandoned things I'd been doing for decades ! If you want lower scores, no matter your level of play, then this book is a complete no-brainer. ... show more
