I bought this when we got kittens and it worked well at first but over time does not work as well. I still but it as regular applications do help our cats from ruining the furniture but initially it kept them well away. I supposed they have gotten used to it so I don't want to remove more than one star as it HAS saved our furniture. We have used it for about 2 years. It smells good, so I don't mind using it and have actually had compliments on the smell! I do think the formula changed a bit as I dont think it smells as good but I still use it and have actually used it as a room spray also. Because its natural ingredients I do not worry about us or the pets. It has a lemon, rosemary, citrus smell which as mentioned before is very pleasant. I have used sprays before that smell bad. Not this one. It is not sticky or greasy. A light gentle spray.

Does not work as advertised. It is so bad it attracted the cat instead. This product is a complete waste of money. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because it worked for a few hours before my cat decided she actually loved it. 1. Smell The smell is pungent. It's strong enough for you to taste it. Even if you air out the room it will still take hours for the smell to completely leave. 2.effectiveness It's useless, I was initially willing to accept the smell thinking it was necessary to deter the cat. However, The smell has the opposite effect. I have a kitten of 4 months, I think the only reason she avoided the area I sprayed at first was because the smell was a brand new thing she hadn't experienced before and was cautious. After a while she would come strolling in from the other room when I sprayed it. It was attracting her instead of keeping her away. I over saturated my dining room table thinking it wasn't working because I hadn't used enough of the spray. My cat took that as a dare and proved me wrong. Eventually I just gave up. Save your money and don't make the same mistake I did. If you made it this far I'll tell you what worked before. Prior to this I used nature miracle platinum pet block for cats and that product while not perfect worked far better than this. My only gripe was the fact the bottle didn't last and the consistency of the spray was closer to foam than liquid. The whole reason I was looking for something else was because I needed something I wouldn't have to waste too much money on. This is a poor replacement. Someone recommended I make my own at home deterrent. If it works I'll come back in a few weeks and edit this review with the formula. The deterrent I made didn't work. I ended up using a combination of positive reinforcement and a motion activated dererrent. That did the trick for me. I wish you the best in whatever method you choose to attempt to train your cat. This product did not work on my cat. Wherever I sprayed it my cat still marked the sprayed area. It was almost as if the spray did the opposite and attracted him to mark the sale area. It was a waste of money for me.

I didn’t expect this to work our one cat scratches on all fabric furniture. We bought new recliners. I sprayed them daily with this spray, all the way around for a while and now do it maybe once a week. I have yet to see her scratch on it. She is fine sitting on my lap when I am on it so it isn’t too offensive to her. It smells like a lemony herb. Maybe lemon verbena. That was odd but not unpleasant until I got used to it and the odor dissipates fairly rapidly to human noses but apparently not cats’.

This stuff works! We have a 3yo male cat who is fixed but started spraying when a new cat joined our household. I sprayed this product in the main area it was happening and a couple other places I’d found urine. The main area is tile floor and the outside of wood cabinet door. He went to his main spot several times after I treated it, sniffed around a little and walked away. No spraying! As per bottle instructions, I’ve been hitting the area maybe once a day with a light mist just to keep it that way. The second area is on a small throw rug in front of the back door. I had washed the rug and treated it with this product but he did spray on that again. I’ve replaced the rug, thinking maybe the urine smell was still there and attracting him, even though I can’t smell it. I treated the new rug with this spray and so far, so good. The spray definitely has an odor but it’s not unpleasant to me. It’s like a spicy herby scent. Since it contains Rosemary oil, lemongrass and cinnamon, that makes sense :) I’m not sure how it will work on carpet or furniture if your pet is spraying there. Might have to repeat treatment of that area more frequently to get the behavior to stop. For me, it was easier to try replacing the $10 rug. Highly recommend!

First off this product is great! The scent is pretty pleasant to the humans in the house but is a quick deterrent to my small kitten. My only feedback is the pump in the bottle is a but weak and tends to get a bit drippy. The main "No" area is my sofa which is quite large and I have to spray both the seat and the back to deter jumping and clawing. With the pump that comes with the bottle I typically can only get two good pumps then it'll leak a little bit on my hands and the pump won't work for a few seconds. Also when the liquid did get on my fingers, even after multiple washings the scent and taste were still there. My personal solution was just to put it in another spray bottle. But other than that it's fantastic!

Well, this product does have a pungent yet not unpleasant to humans smell. It arrived super fast and well packaged. Unfortunately, my kitty actually LIKED the way it smells. I could smell it still in the box when I took it out of the mailbox and thought “Wow, this is pretty powerful, but it doesn’t smell too bad to me.” I got it in the house and set it on the counter to unbox it. You could definitely smell it. Doris the Cat jumped up to see what I was doing and didn’t seem the least bit deterred. I figured she would be once she got a whiff of its full awesomeness. The bottle comes wrapped in some kind of plasticky cellophane stuff. I was trying to get that off and Doris had her face right up there sniffing. She did not look deterred at all. I got a piece of the cellophane stuff off and my hands reeked. I held the bottle out to her and she started rubbing her head on it. I started rubbing the bottle along her sides and she was happy as a clam. I decided to stop trying to take the cellophane off and just return it. It is very strong smelling (not unpleasantly so) and I do believe that it probably does work on normal cats. Just not ones that eat honeydew melon and potato chips.

Arrived quickly, no complaints on the company. Maybe other people have different experiences, but this did not work at all. I smells like ginger and gets the bitter liquid all over your hands, which is fine if it worked, but I tried it in three areas and my cat didn’t change behavior. For what it’s worth, I have two cats and they can both sit, stand, and even give me high five on command, all taught with positive reinforcement, and the other is super well behaved. So, I don’t say the following without some training skills— One was where my cat went to the bathroom on the floor, to which I sprayed everywhere and it didn’t stop him (set him up with a new litter box at the same time to help the transition, but no dice). Another area was for scratching, so I sprayed it on the side of my leather couch where he scratches. You’d think he would move to another area but he scratched as normal. The final area was in the closet where he sleeps and I don’t want him to, because sometimes there is clean clothes where he lies. He didn’t even care. Super relaxed and when he comes by me he just reeks of this bitter ginger. It’s more funny to me than anything, but as for the product? Well, I hope you have better luck than me. My cat didn’t even mind when I sprayed him with it, like in the commercial. And this is a cat that is scared by water or even the wind.
