  • This works great for me!
Style: AF2000-02
Good little item to have in a small air compressor set up. It's very solid and the drain valve is easy to operate by just a single press. This works great for me.

  • Auto draining compressed air water filter
Style: AF4000-04
Water in your compressed air system can cause a multitude of problems: system components can rust and become hazardously weakened, air tools can be damaged internally, water being exhausted from tools can damage your work piece, and water blown out as part of your air stream can mar your finish (especially during air pressure painting). But the accumulation of water in a compressed air system is a natural consequence of compressing the air - humidity in the atmospheric air is condensed by the compressor raising its temperature, and then it is cooled causing the water to separate from the compressed air. Therefore every compressed air system needs an air dryer such as this one. The dryer unit I ordered has 1/2” fittings so that it can handle more air volume than a 1/4” model with less resistance to the air flow. I will be installing this unit near my compressor and primary air storage tank (to remove as much of the water as possible before it travels very far along my compressed air lines and through other system components. An important feature of this dryer is ability to drain itself. Since this will be installed in an area separate from my workshop (partly for space reasons, but primarily for sound control purposes), it being able to expel any accumulated water on its own without my direct contact and involvement is critical to the ease of maintaining the compressed air system. It will just automatically take care of draining the accumulated water each time the system is used (which in my case averages about once a week, but not every week) - when the pressure is released, the dryer drains itself. Since additional water may separate out as the air cools farther down during transit from the compressor to the point of usage, all of my air “drops” (which actually do “drop” down from the main pipe line running near the ceiling) have a short water accumulation pipe extending vertically - below the horizontal air line connector ports - with a valve to allow water to be drained out. While all of this is sufficient for most applications, I have a secondary compressed air dryer that I have installed at the access point where I plug in my hose connected to my paint spray gun to catch any water that might condense in the pipes between the primary dryer and the secondary dryer. Dry compressed air is important to achieve, and having a dryer like this one is a key component in achieving that goal. ... show more
