    • While nice, they are not properly round.
They look great. They are smooth and solid. They also have obvious flat sides, that have been sanded into a mostly round shape. It is absolutely obvious that these were cut into a hex, or six sides shape, then rounded, since they have six flat spots that you can feel, and see if holding them up with a light behind them. Now for a craft, or display that will not be handled, not being round is likely an advantage, but if it is supposed to be a baseball bat, I expect to get a round piece of wood. For what they are charging, being more than a good share of other companies for the same size unfinished wood bat, I would have expected a proper round piece of wood. ... show more

These bats are made of fairly heavy wood and shaped like a baseball bat, just a miniature. They have been sanded and the finish is smooth, ready for a coat of polyurethane. I knocked two stars off because one of the bats is cracked on the heavy end. I believe I captured the crack in the photos. It's not huge but will likely grow. I'll try glueing it together but that's a task I really hadn't counted on. ... show more
