The media could not be loaded. I Wanted something to use with a "dumb" charge controller so I could have continuous real time information on system performance. The back light is probably going to be good indoors but out in full sun, barely readable. A couple YouTubes I watched made it look like these would read the "available" power for a solar panel.. I was right to be skeptical.. See the video. But, it will still show real time performance so it will do what I need. Another problem is that when the sun goes down, the meter loses power so it also loses the record of past performance of the solar panels. I am hoping that adding the external power supply will fix that. ... show more

    • They do work but case gets gummy

I like the information that these provide. They do it without issues. But over a bit of time the rubberized case gets gummy to the touch. I'd buy again because they do work and are a decent value.

    • Very convenient but not as good as the blue box version

Great for monitoring power coming from PV panel or power coming from battery to operate ham radios. But I miss the elapsed time indicator that the older version (ugly blue enclosure) had. I guess it was eliminated because the clock wasn't very accurate.

I am running an off grid system, battery modules of the system do not track incoming PV. These wattage meters provided me with daily data on the Solar panel production. Very easy way to test if your Solar panels are junk or not. I got it to read with: Off Grid system on Load Pv on Source Cheers.

I wanted a meter to monitor my Bioenno batteries when working POTA or portable. They're expensive if buying named brand ones, so I bought these instead. They work really well, but I wish the cables were a little longer. I added 45a Powerpole connects to each end and they work like a charm. If you need one and don't mind adding the connectors, this is a great option. ... show more

I just got them and haven't added connectors yet, but here's a few photos of what I received, including pictures of the instructions that come with them. I'll give them 4 stars for now and if they work out well I'll come back and increase it to 5 stars.

    • Accurate but firmware doesn't keep statistics for more than" one cycle".

I'm big-time into electric RC aircraft. Been doing it for a long time. Have worked my way up to aircraft which consume 3kw of power with 5kw bursts. I've also many different wattmeters through the years which I seem to lose at the field. Lol! I've had several versions based on this meter which is a of the original that was called WattsUp. I have one big issue with this meter. It's almost a deal breaker. The firmware used does not hold onto minimum volts , maximum amps or maximum watts for more than one display cycle. This is not a fluke ( no pun intended), the manual even states this. Every other meter Ive had kept these statistics displayed but for some reason this one doesn't. For me this was important information on system performance. I even opened the case up hoping to find something like a solder bridge selector which when desoldered (or soldered) would act as a switch instructing the firmware to display the info. I'm not going to return but will probably buy another version that works as I described above... ... show more

Great price for two! Haven't compared displayed power use (amps & watts) to a calibrated tester, but the displayed values are well in line with expectations. I put PowerPoles on each end of one and use it as an easy test unit, the other is in a portable "radio box" to allow us to monitor power use and how much battery life is left. The device seems small for the 200 amp advertised limit; not an issue in our case as I doubt we'll draw more than 40 amps through it. Would buy again. ... show more
