I bought a pair of these in black last year, and they were solid black with really textured, comfortable insoles. They also were a perfect fit. So I bought a second pair recently (Feb 2024) in the same color and size and was surprised to find that the "black" is actually grey, the size feels much longer, and the insoles have far less texture--so I docked a point off the rating. See the photo for the difference: the pair on the left are the new version; the older version are on the right.

These slip-ons are slightly lighter in weight and more flexible than the Nautica slip-on canvas boat shoes that I bought them to replace. However, they are no more breathable than the Nautica shoes, so my feet still feel hot when wearing either the Itazero or the Nautica shoes. These shoes slip-on and off relatively easily. The more square shaped toe of these shoes provides more room for my toes which is an advantage over the Nautica slip-on shoes which have a more rounded toe. I usually wear from a men's size 11 to 12 wide, depending on the shoe's toe shape, for a comfortable fit. Because of the extra width of the square toe, the Itazero size 11 X-wide that I ordered fit comfortably. However, it is not clear to me if I actually received the X-wide size since the tag on the shoe and the label on the shoebox lists the size as 11 without indicating X-wide. Nevertheless, the pair of shoes I received are just wide enough for a snug but not constricting fit in the width. Although the color is listed as black, the color of these shoes is actually a dark gray. The removable insole does not provide sufficient arch support and the other weird bumps on it just irritate the bottoms of my feet. The rubbery material of the insole's upper surface in direct contact with the bottoms of my feet makes them sweat. I replaced that insole with a Dr. Scholl's float-on-air insole which provides better arch support and which has a smooth more clothlike upper surface that is comfortable and does not make the bottoms of my feet sweat. Overall, these shoes are just OK, and it is good that the weird bumpy, rubbery arch support insole is removable because it is awful. I have not had these shoes long enough yet to know how durable they are.
