I purchased these solely for stretching my twists and moisture retention. I do hate how they flatten my twists though. I wish they were a lil smaller because they put a pattern on my twists creating a lil shrinkage. On the other hand the thickness is a positive because it allows complete coverage one my ends. The actual band it pretty sturdy, tight and stretchy enough which i like. I haven't broken or stretched one out yet. I have no plans to my only purpose is to keep my hair from losing moisture. Mine felt a lil rough at first which was a major concern. With use they soften up a bit more because of product use. There's no problem with them snagging and breaking my hair, they easily glide off.
