Because there is no quality gold stamp or certificate with this ring I didn't know if it was real gold or what. So, I did a home magnet test. I used a really strong magnet to see if there was any other base metal in it. This ring did not stick to the magnet at all, so that tells me it is gold. I cannot say whether it's 14k as advertised unless I take it to a jewler. That said, the ring is thick, 7mm and fairly hefty. It's perfectly round and seems very durable. It has no scratches or other defect marks. It's shiny and smooth. It comes in an okay gift box with a cleaning cloth so you can gift it easily. Because it's minimalist it's perfect for people who just want a nice looking band that's noticeably heavy and shiny. It's easy to wear and won't get caught on things because it doesn't have a stone to worry about. The price is equal to the quality if it is 14k gold. It's a good buy for people who want a nice budget friendly ring to represent a union or attachment, or just to wear because it is a nice ring.
