Good package of snow shoes, poles and carrying case. Have cross country and downhill skiing in the past and have wanted to start snowshoeing. Recommended to have a head lamp, I purchased gaiters for Snowshoeing the next season.

  • Great quality and were a delight in the winter
Color: Light Blue (with heel lift) Size: 25"(Up to 180lbs)
I’ve rented a couple pairs of snowshoes in the past for use on hikes/backpacking trips - all were typically pretty basic and got the job done so i have a base expectation. The snowshoes themselves feel very well made and sturdy - no easy bending of the members here and everything is well connected. Strapping into them is relatively easy and should accommodate just about every foot/boot size. As i mentioned, i use them primarily for snow backpacking/camping so i got the size that could handle ~50lbs over my weight to account for a pack. They are a decent size and still not too cumbersome to strap to the outside of a pack if youre not using them. Build quality is good and there are some nice little QOL features that i like and others im a bit confused on - namely the small metal bar that you can prop under your heel. Presumably this is for some extra leverage but it feels pretty thin and weak so i didnt try to use it. As far as use goes these did pretty well in the backcountry - i didnt have any issues and nothing broke so thats a win for me! The inclusion of the hiking poles is awesome and especially at this price point. The poles arent super high quality but when even cheap ones are ~$40 in stores getting these inclusive of the price is great since you can use them all season rather than just snow. ... show more

  • nice inexpensive starter kit
Color: Black Blue (without heel lift) Size: 30"(Up to 250lbs)
I do some splitboard skinning in the wintertime [snowboarding on a snowboard that splits in half and going uphill] and let me tell you it can be rough. I'm very out of shape. So one day I was skinning up the mountain, going at a snails pace as usual, huffing and puffing and I watch two people with snowshoes just dance past me with their boards/skis strapped to their back. They looked so light on the snow like fairies! So much movement and freedom! I immediately decided I needed to get into snow shoeing instead and I was thrilled when I was able to pick up this kit! I have never snow shoed before, so I'm not sure how this kit compares to others but I believe this is a pretty inexpensive basic kit. It felt pretty light to me - both the shoes and the poles. I've seen much more expensive poles and the biggest difference is probably weight [these aren't heavy by any means, but just not the lightest I've experienced], how small they break down [these, at the smallest size, are still pretty big comparatively to my more expensive pair that breaks down so small I can practically fit in my pocket after I've folded them down], handles [they're fine overall, just feels like inexpensive foam but not uncomfortable or anything like that, I prefer cork but these will work]. The locking system is working good so far. The baskets [the little pieces on the bottom you attach so they don't sink into snow] are also pretty cheap feeling compared to more expensive poles, but they're an easy swap IF they break. As for the snow shoes, I have no experience at all with other brands so just going on what I have here. The binding system is very similar to a snowboard. The straps feel cheap for sure - they are stiff, and not super smooth like expensive bindings, but they work well enough. May be difficult to adjust/take on or off in very cold temps with gloves on though, but I haven't gotten any major stickiness so far. They feel good enough on my test run, feels funny to walk at first as I expected but you get used to it. The frames feel sturdy - I'm around 110 lbs so not sure how heavier people will fare but I had no issues and no concerns with construction so far. The crampons look to be a good size to prevent slipping. Can't wait to take these onto the mountain! I'll update if something disastrous happens [or maybe I won't!] ... show more
