If you’re a student or someone who will use an IPad casually (99% of people) this is the absolute best deal you will find. 550$ for the 256g version is a steal considering at an Apple Store they are 750$. You might be able to find a lower price on a refurbished product but those are a gamble and often have battery issues. If you are a student, I would recommend this because the M1 chip is plenty fast enough for school and the 2nd gen Apple Pencil works with this model and it’s awesome. I was able to get this iPad, the Apple Pencil, a case, and screen protectors for under 700$ total after tax. Hope this helps someone, I researched this for a while trying to find the best deal.

Everything that can be said about the Apple ipad as a personal computing product has already been said multiple times. I just wanted to add that with Apple releasing the new models, there is no better time to purchase what is now last generation at a great price that you never see during a current product cycle. Specifically, a 5th gen (2022) ipad air with the M1 chip. Value timing is best because of the discount and any "recycling" of your old pad is probably as good as it gets. At some point, you have to consider if you need more than you already have. For me? I moved to this 5th gen product from the 4th gen. Is it a significant change? Did I need it? Probably not, but still the 5th gen feels snappier along with being very familiar. I am also pleased how easy it was to move to the new ipad, with easy transfer of data from my old ipad. Plug and play. What else is there to say? Go!

This is the right size for a travel iPad. I've had the 12.9 inch version and while I enjoyed using it at home, it was not that convenient to take on trips to the coffee shop or traveling - for my use cases. Typically, I would bring my 14 inch MacBook Pro along on trips but this last time I just brought my new 10.9" M1 iPad Air. It was great!
