My grandfather's sword has been in my father's closet for quite some time. He is getting older and brought it down to me a few months back to possess as a family heirloom. As I get older myself, I began to realize the significance of this sword not only to myself but our country as a whole. This sword was brought back from the Pacific campaign that occurred during WWII. I wish I knew how my grandfather obtained this sword and can only speculate it's significance to him. He was a Marine and fought on the various islands in the Pacific campaign, with Guam being one I remember he mentioned. I have been told this is a Japanese Officer's Sword and am not sure how to tell anymore details other than that. The case itself is very nice. It has a felt lined back and the wood supports (loose not fastened to the case) work well to hold the sword. I put velcro on the bottom of the sword supports to hold them in place. I also ordered a marine badge and a plaque with my grandfather's name, rank, and WWII to place in the case as well. I put velcro on the backs of the plaque and the badge and both have held up great over the last couple months. I also added some push button lights on the button that are remote controlled to add a little ambience at night. Overall I highly recommend the case and with a few personal touches turned out very nice, if I do say so myself. : ) ... show more

It's a fantastic cabinet. Mine is Mahogany. The quality is exceptional. It's a great price and beautiful cabinets. I looked at comparable units for my Swords that were over $150 and weren't as nice. If you would like to lock up and display something like a sword, it's an excellent choice.

Finally, the Samurai sword is on display. It represents a story of survival by my father in law in WWII yet was hidden away under beds for years. The case is nice and easy enough to adjust to fit the sword. It presents nicely. I’m a designer so I’m picky. It’s a good option to a custom case at a great price. ... show more

My USMC retired officer always carried his Marine mamaluke sword in a custom case, never on display. This box case was the best Valentines Day gift. He absolutely loves the red felt backing and oak case to perfectly display his beautiful treasure.

Well made piece, well packaged and perfect for military swords. Using for a military retirement presentation and you can't go wrong using this case and a value priced sword (about $90). Just get a brass plate made ($10) and buy a service crest ($15), entire package $255 compared at $700 to have a custom setup put together...
