Our tubes feature an improved easy open snap seal. Tubes with ultimate boiling protection or for basic boiling applications are available. An ergonomically designed positive seal cap makes these tubes easier to open and close than other tubes. All tubes feature frosted writing surfaces on the cap and side for smear resistant labeling. Graduations every 100µl enable easier estimation of tube contents and more reliable rotor balancing.Molded from clarified virgin polypropylene for unmatched strength and clarity. Certified free from RNase, DNase, DNA & PCR inhibitors. Also Endotoxin-Free.

I bought these for my science olympiad forensic style event. My plan was to fill the tubes with unkown liquids that the kids need to identify. I was hesitant - none of the reviews indicated if the tubes were water tight. After filling them and closing the attached lids - I put the tubes in a rack to ensure there would be no leaking. Since these are centrifuge tubes ... they are pointy on the end and don't stand up - so one group of kids TURNED THEM UPSIDE DOWN and set them on the lids - which btw - they stand up beautifully on their lids. I bought this product to hold the scented cotton swabs I use for scent work training with my dog. I cut off a portion of the bottom so the scent can come out. I bought the 500 piece multiple colors because it came in 6 colors and she is on 6 scents. Perfect! I use the microcentrifuge tubes to store daylily pollen for future breeding. These tubes are just the right size, and having several colors helps to distinguish between the different types of pollen.
