This dress fits my body to a T. I originally ordered it for my teenage daughter however it didnt fit her as her chest is much larger than mine and it was uncomfortable for her. So it got passed down to me and I am not even mad about it. I am not sure how strangers will feel about an old lady like myself wearing a super cute cherry dress but I dont really care. The straps tie at your shoulders so you can get a comfortable fit. I criss crossed the straps and tied them as they are a little long but itworked out perfect. The material is the typical dressy flowy non forgiving material you would expect. I machine washed and dried and didnt see a change. Now I only put in the dryer for about 15-20 min and then I hang it up to finish drying. I do this so it doesn't get all wrinkled. I ordered this dress and sized up since I did not want to be fitted on me. The dress was very tight in my hip area since I have a pear shaped body and was loose everywhere else. If I would of gotten a small as recommended it probably wouldn’t have even made it past my thighs. The material is also very thin and the bust area has no support whatsoever. If you are a thin person than maybe it will be true to size but if you are curvy it might not fit correctly. I ordered a medium and couldn't zip it up all the way. I was so disappointed because everything else about this dress was really cute. I wanted to reorder in a Large and it was out unfortunately. It wasn't sheer at all, and I had a little too much room in the bust.
