  • Big hit with a truck obsessed 3 year old!
This was a huge hit for a 3 year old boy who loves cars and trucks. Mom liked it because it feels like it will teach him a little about car maintenance and how engines work, which is already an interest he has and this toy both allows him to use his imagination to drive his little truck around but also to disassemble and assemble a somewhat realistic engine! There are some little parts so might be a good toy to monitor while playing if kiddo is on the lower end of this age range but in his case he is past the phase of putting random things in his mouth and has great motor skills for his age so no concerns really about him playing with these parts. This is such a fun make-believe toy for any child showing an interest in cars. Well made, it does require some parental assembly so maybe open the box up first to add the stickers before little hands get to them first, but otherwise wonderful gift and toy for mechanically inclined littles! Also worth noting mom opted to not add batteries and kiddo doesn't notice the difference. So if sound is a concern for you, just don't add the batteries, problem solved. ... show more

  • There needs to be clearer pictures for first time assembly. These were horrid
I loved this so much for my great-grandchildren, that I bought two of them. Working on cars is something of a necessity with six of them in the family so the little ones are always imitating. There is plenty to take apart and rebuild. The only problem I had was the initial build without instructions. It made me feel incompetent and was thoroughly frustrating. ... show more

  • Cute but loud!!!
Definitely not worth the price. No volume button on the horn or door that opens and goes off until you shut it. Most annoying gift Santa brought only because of the commune aspects. But my son loves it!!!

  • Great toy, but some things to consider
This is a great toy to put together with a little one (I would suggest 4+) There are some really loud noises the toy makes. Great concept, but I think I misunderstood. You have to out the entire thing together (including sticker decals) - that part is a little more difficult for a young toddler. But once it’s together it is fun for them to play with select “take apart and put together” parts of the truck. Overall, he really liked it, but lost interest in the setup. Mom and dad hate the glove box sound. :/ ... show more

  • What a Great Toy for Many Different Ages!
I originally got this for my 2 year, even though the titles says 3-7, and I would definitely recommend sticking to getting this for a child in that age range. My 2 year old like "playing" with my tools, and has been able to show they can "twist" with their fingers, but all the components of this toy make it best for older children. If you do decide to have a younger child use it, make sure that you are with them when they do, especially if they are still in the "exploring by taste" phase, as some of the pieces are on the smaller side. One great part about this toy is that it is applicable for many different ages. So while the 2 year old wasn't quite ready to use the "building" aspect of the toy, they loved wheeling it around the house. The older kids (6 and 8) loved other aspects of it, and they seemed better suited for the building parts. The volume of noises is also on the louder side, so if you have anyone that is sensitive to that, take note. Overall, I am very satisfied with this toy, and really love that it is something that will be used for many years. Definitely recommend! ... show more

  • Fabulous invitation to play for little gear heads
We purchased this as the big present for my son's 2nd birthday and less than a week in it's been responsible for hours of play both for him and his older sister (almost 5). Things this excels at: - Quick drive by play pretending to drive the car - Extended independent play in both siblings focusing on assembling and unassembling car - Side by side play with enough space, tools, and options that both kids can play at the same time with minimal fights AND dad can work on the car and kids can work alongside without too many episodes of switching to Dad's car and tools. Key features: - Arrives disassembled but kids can play from the start putting it together. For younger kids it seems easier to start from assembly - Toy includes space to store all the tools so there's no having to keep up with pieces - Anti pinch features including kick stands and trunk hold - Toy comes with sound ability but 100% playable with out them and no obvious giveaways to the kids that you've 'forgotten' to install batteries - Great for practicing fine motor skills, tool use, crossing the midline, practical life, and wrist articulation skills Note: The screws are about half the size of the ones that come in most building kits. The 2 yr old can operate them well enough but these could be a choking hazard for some littles. Picture with screw from another toy for comparison to help visualize. ... show more
