  • Used for over 1.5 Years. It works but...
Size: 16FT
USB 3.0 Version: So I have used this moderately over about 1.5 years now with my Occulus Quest (Meta) 2 for Quest Link. Moderately means I have used it about 80 times in this time frame. The good news is it has worked and continues to work fine. I have not had a single disconnection in all of its use. And when I run the test from Occulus it says it still passes fine at a speed of 1.5Gbps. So if you are looking for a cheaper cord that will work for Quest or Meta Link this will do but there is issues. The biggest being this cord fails to charge and run your headset at the same time... It will SLOW the draining of the headset to the point that while this is plugged in my battery loss drops only 20% instead of 60% in an hour. But it still drops regardless. Now I originally thought that this might be soley from the lower power limit of the USB 3.0 which should only deliver 5V at 0.900A or 4.5W. But it is more complicated then just that. Quest 2 can handle 5V at 2A or 10W charging So technically this cord could only provide halfish power charging through USB 3.0 on computer. But that is only in MOST circumstances. As there are actually USB ports that can provide more current than that like super speed ports, active power splitters, certain expansion cards, or usb 3.2 or higher. (For example USB 4.0 provides at minimum 1.5A at 5V.) So theoretically if you use those higher power ports with this cord they should charge your headset faster... Right? Maybe even allow you to charge while using the headset too..? They should, but sadly they wouldn't... The reason is this cord when I tested using a power supply able to provide more wattage the the 0.9 amp of the normal 3.0 port, the cord still was only able to give the Quest 2, 5V at a mere 0.81A or 4.05W. Which means that this cord has too high of resistance to even take full advantage of the normal 5V x 0.9A (4.5w) the 3.0 ports can at minimum put out. (You are losing about a 0.5w power potential with it.) And forget about gaining any advantage with any port with higher power as again this cord tops out at about 0.8A. It is just unable to provide any higher power then 4W at 5V. End of story. This means this cord is actually below the absolute minimum current standards a 3.0 cord should be able to provide (0.9A) which is a shame. If you want faster charging when using a more powerful USB 3.0 (or otherwise) port. Or even just getting full power from a standard 900mA one for that matter, you want to look elsewhere. That shortcoming aside though the cord has been otherwise fine. And for the money is still what I consider a solid, albeit not amazing option. I do highly recommend getting some cord routers to route the wires down the middle back of the headset like you can see I've done with the orange ones. This is important to stop the wire pulling on the Quest port. And also makes it more comfortable to wear. If you have a 3D printer then they can be found online for free and printed for very cheaply. Anyways hope this review is helpful and provides some good info. ... show more

  • Works well with Meta Quest Pro
Size: 16FT
After discovering the cable included with the $1000 Quest Pro is only a charging cable and not a Link cable, I did some research and found the Link cable Meta sells for $80 is really just a nice USB 3.0 cable with USB-C connectors on each end, one of which is at a 90-degree angle. So far, after a week of setting up the Quest Pro, experimenting with PC LInk, and playing DCS World and X-Plane in VR this cable has worked flawlessly. I bought the Meta version, just in case, but I will likely return it unopened. I read reviews of other USB 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 cables where the users experienced connection issues or being dropped from games, but I have not seen that with this cable. I wish I could give it 4.5 stars instead of taking off a full star, but this cable has thick shielding around it, making it heavy and, more importantly, making it not fit cleanly into the cable clip that comes with the Quest headset (cable clip holds the Link cable to the side of the headset and routes the cable back and over your shoulder when wearing it). I solved this with a piece of velcro tape, which works fine. I probably could get crafty and sand away some plastic in the clip to make this cable fit, but this VOKOO cable is definitely the better value. ... show more

  • Works for the price!
Size: 16FT
Doesn’t charge, but does the job. I’d say just buy the official link cable but this works for players with a budget

  • Works well enough
Size: 16FT
Bought this last summer for the Meta Quest 2 and it worked very well until recently (about 1 year later) after a lot of use. It still works but will sometimes disconnect and the wire needs to be repositioned. Kind of like old earbuds that need to be a certain position to hear sound.

  • Working 100% of the 95% of the time it says connected.
Size: 16FT
Okay so this seems to be working okay for me. Day one I had no issues. Then I changed some usb settings that I read was good for oculus. now I get the occasional drop off the pc and have to do the whole oculus quest reconnect processes. Not sure if it the settings I changed or noise on the cable as it comes from back of pc past a bunch of other cables (power usb charger, etc...) I tried changing the settings back but i feel i may have missed one? i need to check again. Just a lesson I should have learned a long time ago. if it aint broke don't fix it. If i can get it 100% of the time to stay on ill come back and adjust this comment. If it turns out a settings issue. But for now every time I use it I will get random disconnects. FYI: I am trying to do game dev with it. so my game engine could be causing issues. I will need to dig in some more on it. ... show more
