I've been buying unionbay clothes for a while now, as a man with unnaturally large hips and thighs I have a hard time finding a good pair of pants or shorts. Unionbay has great clothing at a decent price when you're a 300lb person. I did buy a size smaller than I normally would because I've lost weight, and it is tight in the hips but otherwise these shorts are pretty great. Nice pockets, good material- very lightweight- and comes with a good belt too. Length is right where I was aiming for. 4 stars only because the zipper of this one at least is constantly getting stuck on itself, but it might just be an issue with the fact it's a *bit* tighter than I was hoping due to buying a different size than normal. I do suggest adding 2" for us bigger guys when looking at your measurements before buying Union Bay, these are not stretchy material. ... show more

Love these! I do long intense rollerblade sessions and I needed a lightweight breathable shorts that were also baggy enough to flow with my braces and knee pads. Theses work great! They do everything I need. They dry out fast have plenty of pockets for my gear. The only construction feed back is that because of the lightweight nature of the material it can rip rather easily. But if your doing just chill hikes and not flying down hill they should last you a good amount of time. Also the velcro on some of the pockets are not attached in a strong way have a few flapping off. ... show more

Ok I'm a big guy (size52-54) and like most big guys I find it hard to find a great fit... these shorts are the perfect fit for me and my belt doesn't pinch me anymore because these fit great... with my concealed carry or with out they fit phenomenally.. I now have every color in my size... now I just need some cool 5xlt shirts to go with!! ... show more

I've bought UB pants and shorts for working in for the past 3 years now because hands down they used to be the comfiest pants and shorts in 100+ degree temps for me at my various jobs. But there is a huge issue with the new style of buttons they are using. Previously the buttons used to have 4 holes, and all my pairs with this style are fine. But the new shorts ive ordered in both black and gray have 2 hole buttons. Both pairs had the button come unstitched in the middle of me working. I buy my shorts slightly bigger than what I need and always have to use a belt, so I don't feel like im putting unnecessary strain on the stitching that would cause a massive wardrobe failure like this. For the price of these compared to others im disappointed that a company ive held in high regard and have reccomended to others is starting to cheap out on materials. Both pairs have since been fixed and fitted with new buttons that have 4 holes but all my old pairs have seen long nights and days and haven't even began to become loose. Dunno if I will ever buy again now when Levi shorts are similar in price for a better product. ... show more
