These shorts are so comfortable you almost forget your wearing them. Their super light with an extra wide waist band,the protective padding is nice and thick without being obtrusive. The crotch padding is minimal which I prefer, so I would recommend them without reservations. Size true to fit.

Happy with these so far. Took a spill on pavement the other day landing on my right hip and these seemed to already be worth it. Pretty pricey but as always with Troy Lee, good quality and design. The pads are a little thicker looking in person to me than what it looks like in the pic, which is a good thing. Adds more protection. Not bulky and I hardly notice them when wearing while downhilling and so on. Almost a 5 star product but I do with they had made a little better chamois that is on par with standard short liners. It is a bit thin and doesn’t add the best protection so sometimes I add a short liner underneath. I am about 5’8” and 190-195 lb and they fit pretty well. A tad snug but good. ... show more

I had a pretty serious bike wreck a few months ago and wound up with a MAJOR bruise on my hip. Dropped my wheel into a rut and landed directly on my hip. It was my hip versus pavement and the pavement won. I've been riding for about 15 years and have fallen about 5 - 6 times, including two fairly serious incidents. Decided I had to get serious about added protection. I've tried several different brands/models of padded pants, including Troy Lee's BP7605 and BP5605 pants. The BP 7605 is the best of the entire bunch. It offers the best trade-off between protection and comfort. The padding offers serious protection in the event of a fall. The pants are somewhat more restrictive than ordinary bike pants or pants with lesser padding, but I have no doubt that if had been wearing these pants when I took my aforementioned spill, I would have walked away injury-free. Other points: 1.) I also tried Troy Lee BP5605 pants and returned them. There is extra material for abrasion protection, but ZERO padding for impact protection. 2.) Alpine Stars Evolution pants get an honorable mention. They are just as comfortable as regular bike pants have SOME protection that would have been of real benefit during my last wreck. IMO, they are not as robust as Troy Lee BP7605 shorts, but definitely worth considering 3.) I have a 32 inch waste and the MEDIUM size BP7605 pants fit well ... show more

These were an excellent addition to my daily kit... If you're looking to add protection without adding a lot of weight the 7605's are a great choice. Once they're on I can't tell a difference in terms of comfort and heat compared to a pair of non-padded liners. I much prefer these over the TD 5605's because of the tailbone protection which is an important spot for padding. Other reviews mentioned the chamois seat pad being a bit thin but I think it's perfect - gives cushioning but doesn't feel like a pair of diapers. These also dry quickly and stay odor free - I can get several long rides in before I need to wash. ... show more
