    • My favorite pair of MTB shorts so far!
So I am a gear-a-holic. I love MTB and I love MTB "stuff". I always find myself searching all of the closeouts and outlets to find cool stuff to try, and when I came across these on sale here, I was stoked! This was my first pair of TLD Skyline shorts, and definitely will be my go-to in the future. The material is a little thicker than some other MTB-specific shorts I have, but so far in the couple of rides I have used them on, they are not hot. They definitely feel more sturdy that others that I have, but I expect that will manifest in a bit less breathability. They are cut loosely, and easily fit knee pads underneath. I would venture to say the inseam on these are on the longer side of the spectrum, but they are by no means anywhere near "jorts". The zippers seem very sturdy, and the velcro waist adjustment is handy. I wear a 36 in "regular" pants, and after looking at the TLD website for a sizing guide, I decided to go with 38's. I have noticed a trend in MTB clothing that seems to run a size or two small in my experience. A 36 in Zoic is an XXL! I will say though that these seem to be very true to size. I find them a Little big, but I am able to cinch them up with the velcro adjustment, and I think I like the roomier feel of a slightly bigger size. I would be tempted to try a 36 if I ever find them in store, as it seems with these specific model of shorts, they are surprisingly accurately sized, BUT... The liner does seem to run "small". I could see how a size, say, 36 SHELL would be perfect, but a size 36 LINER would be too tight. I have also noticed this with other brands as well. It can pay to just buy the shell and liner separately if you run into this issue. All in all, I really like these, and would buy again without question. ... show more

I have a couple pairs of these now. When catching them on sale you can’t beat the value for fit, appearance and performance compared to many others. I ride in these all day with no issues, and the included liner is a huge bonus. My only gripe is the colors online are way off from what they actually are. The camo is very green compared to the gray they show online. But that’s a very minor gripe. ... show more

I tend to have trouble finding shorts and pants that fit well - most items tend to be too tight in the seat or crotch area (makes it uncomfortable to sit down or squat). I tried several other pairs of MTB shorts (including Zoic, and POC), then gave up and wore basketball shorts for several years, until I found these! These Troy Lee skyline shorts fit perfectly, and don’t restrict my movement at all. They’re lighter and more comfortable than my basketball shorts, and don’t snag on the seat. CONS: Outer short was much darker than the representative photo, more of a dark blue than that snazzy high-vis blue in the photo. Liner is about one size too small relative to the shorts. One ride with them left ligature marks on my skinny thighs; felt like my legs were being choked. Maybe they’ll stretch with time… After the first wash much of the stitching holding the pad to the liner came apart and my entire wash load was wrapped in a cocoon of black thread, a giant mess. Per other reviews on this short it sounded like the liner short was a throwaway; pretty much seems to be the case PRO’S: all of the seams on the shorts are sewn rather than glued. A pair of ZOIC shorts I have that are less than a year old are all glued seams and they are all disintigrating. I’m confident these TL’s will hold up much better in the long run. On the bike they’re comfortable and easy to adjust with the Velcro custom fits straps on the waist 👍 iPhone SE easily fits in the pockets. zippers look quality. Despite the liner stitching self-destructing, the pad itself seems to be pretty good quality, the right density. Just not wearable because they are so tight. Hopefully they’ll get this bug figured out. Despite the liner problem, I’ll be keeping this these. A good durable short is getting hard to find and the TL’s seem to be some of the better ones I’ve used. I got plenty of other liner shorts so its easy to substitute but buyer beware if these are the only liners you’ll have ... show more

Love the shorts. Perfect fit for the sizing. Does have the tension straps for precision fit, also a bonus. Very nice and roomy, never had an issue with knee pads hanging up. The materials are light and robust. Used these for DH mountain biking, took a hard crash and the shorts help up nicely. Good size pockets with zippers. Good stuff! ... show more

Size: 36 Regular Color: Solid Black
I needed some mountain biking shorts and did some research to find a goood pair of inexpensive shorts. Revues said these were good, but one on the cons was that they were not ventilated enough and could be hot. I live in Texas where the heat is in the triple digits for long periods of time during the summer and I don’t really notice it. These shorts check all the boxes I was looking for in a pair of baggies. I will buy more of these in the future. ... show more
