This playpen is great and already comes assembled out of the box. Just need to stretch it apart to form a circle. The only bad thing about it is that it's not very sturdy. my child can lean on the gate and it'll start to bend and tip over. the base of the gate is not weighted. but i am 5'5" and can fit laying down while my 10 month old plays. Not a whole lot of room but enough if you decide to take a nap with them in there. the door was a little hard to open at first but after some time you get used to how it works. now if you're multitasking holding your baby and trying to either open or close the door it will be difficult because the door is a little flimsy. meaning that it's evenly light and not heavy so while you're pushing it closed, the bottom part will bend and not lock into place. ... show more

The pen itself is pretty nice. I got it to corral the mini Dachshunds when we need them confined, and it does a good job of that. I ordered the 8 panel, but it's too large for our space, so we removed 2 panels. It's still plenty big for the dogs. The panels are a bit difficult to turn, but once adjusted, they stay adjusted. The gate...well, I hate it. It's difficult to pull up with one hand, and you have to pull it up slightly to get it open. I understand it's a safety thing - to keep kids from opening the gate and escaping once they figure out how to push the thumb latch on top back - but it's really annoying. Getting it lined up to close (remember, this pen has excitable small dogs in it, and they jump. A lot!) is also a 2-handed operation. A frustration, certainly, but not worth returning the pen. ... show more

I was so happy to finally find a white/ cream gate for a good price. This gate has been very handy form the moment we got it. My only regret is that I didn’t buy it sooner, cause now my one year old likes to climb on it and hurt her toes in the plastic holes. But it does wrangle our little one great and is stable, apart or together. We’ve used it many different ways throughout the house. I love its diversity. The joints are stiff due to it being brand spanking new so when you unhook it will be loud/ stiff for a while. Easily movable by one able body person. Love love love the gate, and it has a lock! It is a lift then pull style gate. Very baby proof, heck it was almost husband proof. Average height for a baby gate, and plastic as expected. We use this to keep our 1 year old grandson safely in our living room while babysitting him. His playpen keeps one end against the wall, and a heavy chair secures other end against wall. Had a similar play yard 30 years ago for our son so we could keep him safely away from wood stove. The previous one had metal hinges that folded easier. This one is harder to fold, but better for us since it has a gate. Gate is opened with one hand, and closed using both hands to latch it. Most of the time I just hold the wall, and step over instead of using the gate. When grandson is gone, we separate and fold a section of the yard to make a walkway. I got the eight panel playpen and I’m happy with the size…It is not as stiff and rigid when standing up as I hoped. I think when my grandchild is older, they will be able to push and wobble it quite a bit. When you open and close the door, it is easy enough to do so, but it gets very wobbly then, I was hoping it would be easier to fold flat and put out of the way, but I have to unhook it and then it takes both my husband and I to collapse it into its accordion shaped-stow position… It’s quite the effort . ... show more

I’ve had this up for about a month. I almost fell once while holding my baby because the door sticks. I’ve learned to SLOWLY open and shut the door while lifting the door to make sure it’s not stuck. I love that this product has a door. We use it to keep my grandson from getting to the wood stove and love that it has a door for when he is gone or in bed it can be open for the cats. Also, it’s nice for my mother-in-law who lives with us and can’t step over the fencing.
