Description

For more than 150 years, Tissot has embodied the innovation and tradition of Swiss watch-making. Based in the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, in Le Locle, Switzerland, Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile created the watch making company Tissot in 1853. Whether in the technology of its movements, in the research for special materials or in the very functions of the watch itself, Tissot's engineers and watchmakers have developed pioneering timepieces over the years. Some of Tissot's triumphs over the years include the the Idea 2001 (the world's first plastic watch) released in 1971, the Rock watch (which set the timepiece's movement in a stone case made from Swiss Alps granite) in 1985, and the Wood watch from 1988 (with a completely wooden case). Tissot uses the best movements (from ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse), the highest quality materials (316L steel, 18K gold, titanium) and scratch-proof glasses (sapphire crystal--at least 2500 Vickers). The company has been involved with high profile sports events since 1974 when they sponsored a racing car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, France. Since then Tissot's timepieces have been chosen as official timekeepers for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. And Tissot is currently the the official watch and timekeeper of NASCAR. Tissot timepieces have been worn by a bevy of celebrities over the years--including Grace Kelly, Elvis Presley and Nelson Mandela--and James Stewart's character L.B. Jefferies wore a Tissot timepiece in Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window." Today the company is represented in a variety of sporting fields by English soccer star Michael Owen, IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, and MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden. Today, Tissot is a member of the Swatch Group, the world's largest watch producer and distributor. Stainless steel case with a black leather strap. Fixed stainless steel bezel. • Good experience meh product.
Decent product but lacks the known Tissot quality. The super polished watch case makes it look cheap. The strap is kinda weak and looks like cheap leather. I own several older Tissot watches and the difference in quality is like day and night. I ended up returning the product within one day. Buying form Watchsavings was a pleasant experience though. They shipped the product very quickly and when I wanted to return it they accepted the return and refunded the money immediately. ... show more

  • Quality Swiss Watch - very pleased
This is a great classic look watch. I received this watch as a gift and it is my first Tissot. I was very pleased to see how crisp the movement is. I've been wearing an Invicta for the last couple of years and this was noticeably more accurate after just a week keeping up with the exact time as my atomic clock. Wow! I believe I read that the battery will last approx two years however if you change watches, it was recommended by Tissot to pull the knob to stop the watch and save the battery life. Very pleased, and I will definitely look at other Tissot watches in the future. ... show more

  • A bit loose
There should have been a couple more holes in the band. I have a narrower wrist than many and I can't get the band to fit as snuggly as I would like. Otherwise, very nice watch face and color -- clean look.

This was a gift to my brother to replace another Tissot. The face is larger, which I thought I would not like - he likes it because it is easier to read. It really does like nice on him, even with the larger face.

Very nice watch, only wish that when it was shipped that it had been double boxed. Instead it came in a plastic bag.

  • I love it. The case is quality
This is my first Swiss watch, but I have many of various price points. So far, I love it. The case is quality, the size is perfect, sapphire crystal looks good, face has some subtleties to it that set it apart from the more value-oriented watchmakers out there. It is a little dressier than your average chronograph, but retains the sportiness of other classics. I think a domed sapphire crystal would make it look even sharper. It is quartz, and I was struck by how much lighter it is than my automatic watches. However, it is amazingly accurate. I set it when I got it and haven't had to reset it since, and I am accustomed to winding and setting my automatics every morning. The chronograph reset mechanism is a little bit sluggish, and the springbars don't have a lot of room between the case. A standard thickness nato will fit, but only just, so don't plan on pairing it with a zulu or heavy nato. The strap that comes with it looks nice but needs an extra hole or two. I have small wrists and I had to swap out the band immediately to make it wearable. A great quartz chronograph with a classic look, for a good price. The things I would change are more holes in the band, more distance between spring bars and case, and a domed sapphire. ... show more
