These combination locks are unreliable. I bought this to use when I occasionally park in questionable locations. The LAST thing I want is to return to my vehicle and discover that I can't remove my lock. I’d be stranded in an undesirable place. The risk of this scenario appears significantly higher than having my vehicle stolen. Read the one and two star reviews. The manufacturing quality control is clearly lacking. I am impressed by the sturdiness of this security lock. As other reviews have stated, just the weight alone makes a great defensive tool, should you need it, but sitting on the steering wheel it looks forbidding and should stop anyone from thinking about trying to steal the car. Also, as previously stated, while the device doesn't stop thefts, if you angle the bar so that the long end of it touches or comes close to the driver's seat, there is very little room to turn the wheel if someone should try. I also like the large numbers on the bar so that it's easy to see. The one drawback to the product is the size of the screw used in the bar. I had a lot of difficulty not only holding it but also maneuvering it into the hole. I hope the company makes the next generation of these security bars with a longer or larger screw -- it would be much much easier for people with large hands or with arthritis to handle. Thought this was going to be cumbersome and difficult, but it’s easy to work, doesn’t make me carry one more key. Has a quality weight and is perfect for my collector car. I highly recommend it. Easy peewee to work. Perfect!!
