It is very easy to put together and use. I live in New Mexico and the skies are fairly clear however, the level of detail following the stars is just breathtaking. This is a great and wonderful product for people like me who doesn't know much about the stars. Some nights especially on the weekends I just set my new telescope outside and see the stars bright and near, their formations, the immensity and it is relaxing to think of these things all made possible by my telescope, a great buy. I imagine that if you have kids this telescope would be an even better investment, it is an engaging tool to make kids curious about science. I recommend this telescope to my friends is they want their kids to grow up being smart and curious. No better way to stir younger and older people to what this telescope brings home. Best purchase I have done in the last few years. You will be happy if you decide to give yourself this telescope as a gift, you cannot go wrong with this product. Overall this is a solid telescope. Decided to purchase this for a gift to myself for the holidays. Have been itching to see space again. This telescope is all metal, hefty, and very user friendly and accurate for the handful of times ive used it. Love the sleek colors too. Alot of things on this telescope can be adjusted for whatever you may want to see in space. I am still in process of learning/getting a feel for the telescope, due to me living in a cold and snowy area. So viewing space right now slightly limited. I can not wait to use this a lot more when it gets warmer. I love the digital eyepiece that this came with, came with instructions and the app for my iOS was not complicated nor not easy to understand. Pretty much plug and play, very little setup. Perfect for saving photos of the cosmos. The screenshot I took is of the moon, it is not clear, I know. That is because it was freezing cold outside (hands were cold :( ) But if my hands were not cold I would've been able to get a clearer picture. Again this telescope has so many things you could adjust for your needs. Comes with the 3 lenses, phone mounts, etc. Instructions/manual was clear and easy to understand. Easy to assemble, and if you struggle they even have youtube videos showing you how to assemble. Love this telescope, it is definitely a keeper. ... show more

    • Good entry telescope, takes some getting used to

Pros: Lowest price for the fine adjustments stand, sturdy enough and intuitive to maneuver to find things. Easy enough to see some detail on planets like Jupiter (moons and stripes) and Saturn (rings) Cons: Not a very high magnification even with smaller lenses and I have found issues trying to use the barrow lens... I may have a defective one. I did get an adjustable lens to use with it which makes viewing with kids easier. I have also found that it is easy to move accidentally which can be a problem with family viewing... Luckily the fine adjusters are easy enough to use to correct. I have also had issues with the focus adjuster squeaking when I focus and that it moves the scope a little because of how tight it is in the barrel.. I may need some sort of lubricant to fix this issue. I also have had no luck using the camera attachment for taking photos.. May need more practice, but it weighs down the end quite a bit and so you can't find the object with your eye before putting on the camera... Overall, If you're new to astronomy and want to be able to see colors of different stars and some planetary details without breaking the bank, this telescope is pretty good for the price point. I will say that it does do a good job looking at the moon, though it does not come with a moon lens so you have to put the partial cover on and be ready for your eye to get blinded a bit.. or buy a moon lens. If you're looking for the perfect to adjust, great magnification that can take amazing pictures... you're going to need to spend a lot more money. ... show more
