Since Covid hit I've developed a passion for building custom arcades on the side. This is one of the best kits I've found. Using Pandora is a much more end-user friendly option than retropie/mame. Plus it has an outstanding front end with scrolling video menus and an auto scroll feature. The added led light strip has great adhesive and sticks well directly to raw wood. It provides a fantastic glow that cycles through various colors which elevates my builds to the next level. Fantastic ambience! These joysticks are much better than the usual sanwa clones. These come already equipped with adjustable gates (diamond for old school and square for the modern stuff, just pop off the clear adapter, push in and spin) and the sanwa clone buttons are pretty tough and look great in black and white. Note: the two smaller buttons use a 24mm bit and the bigger buttons require a 30mm bit. These are not 28mm like alot of the other buttons found elsewhere. The fan is a useless boondoggle and it gets clipped off immediately. Wiring is easy by using the attached booklet. There are two sets of cables coming out of fhe black plug, the shorter one is 1P and the longer is 2P. Start with your ground and then just count your wires then label them accordingly for later. Each one gets it's own ground. Pay attention to how far apart you can put your buttons and controller deck as the harness will only go so far. You can fo farther but then you will be cutting and splicing and noone wants to do that. I recommend downlaoding and printing a good standard arcade joystick button layout diagram. There are a lot of great free ones found via Google. Note: You will need to source your own pc style power cord (three prong) which plug into the ac adapter. The reason this is not included is because the adapter is 110 or 220 all depending on the power cord leading into the switching power supply. Just be prepared to add this to your order as well as an hdmi or vga cable depending on your setup. This also include a speaker cable utilizing the on board amp. Makes for a pretty neat option if you are retrofitting an old cab or adding a single speaker to your build. Running dual speakers will require some splicing of that cable. The games list can be a bit overwhelming but if you press the settings button you can go in and create a favorites list so all of your favorites pop up first. You can also hide games you don't want your kiddos to see. If this is your first build I HIGHLY recommend this kit it has really been thoughtfully put together. Some notes on games: These are all emulated, most run perfectly, bit some run a little fast or a little slow. Also it looks like there are repeats but many of the repeats are slightly different versions of the same game. Anyone who has spent time with arcade emulation is familiar with that. Used this to upgrade a 60 to 1 home arcade.. took a little bit of fiddling with the setting but once it was set up it was great. works well.

    • Looks and plays great on hdmi, no jamma crt support and some 3D games from list missing.
Unit works great with hdmi. One of the 3D games plays pretty badly, unplayable badly. Unless I got the wrong game list I could only find one of the 3D games advertised. Somewhat disappointing. I ordered this as an upgrade from pandora 4 for my jamma arcade w/ CRT. The description seemed to indicate it would work with a crt(Which is wired through the jamma connector) but I have had no success making that work. The resolution changing instructions aren’t exactly clear but I’m pretty sure once I had the hdmi hooked up I saw the resolution change. Very disappointing. Otherwise the none 3D games look and play great. Lots of authentic games. Not sure if I’ll ask for a return or just upgrade my screen. Probably the former since I wanted authentic play. ... show more

All of the Pandora boxes are great! Some games you will never play but all the classic ones are there!! You can hook up amplifiers and speaker's no problem.

    • This item will not work on CRT monitors
Its unfortunate that the item is advertised and sold as a multi video configuration, but when you try to set it up the old school very cool CRT monitors, it may work, or not at all, and if it does, its not for very long. The screen will break up and be unplayable. I did return mine. Its more set up for LCD wide screen TV's. Also, too many games to set up and customize if you just want a plug and play platform. These things come from China, and may as well order these from China for less $, but have to wait a little longer to receive, but worth it. I won't buy from this vendor on Amazon. ... show more

Initially arcade box played ok. As of today, broken. ... only turned on game 5-10 times and may have play total of 30 minutes ( or less). Disappointed!!!
