I have yet to use this urn as I got it in preparation for when my buddy, who was recently diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer, passes. I have been reluctant to even open it and look at it, but I did. Actually I showed it to my Rat Terrier for his approval. Well it has a smell to it he didn't really like (or he knows what it's for). Anyway, it is very well made and is hefty for it's size. It also includes a small paper funnel to load it with. The stand fits it perfectly. It will hold the majority of his remains once the day comes (but he is only 25 pounds). The ONLY thing is that there is no way to put his name on it. It would have been nice to maybe have a place for his name, like maybe on the stand. Anyway, it's very nice and I am not looking forward to using it. ... show more

This is a unique, well made sharing urn. It holds a little bit of ashes. It comes with the stand, but you do not have to use it. It is fairly easy to fill with a little patience and the plug is secure. The urn itself is lightweight but very well made.

The Finnish on this piece is very smooth, and convincingly "wood like". It has the weight of the metal from which it is constructed. The small gold colored stand does somewhat hide the rather large and conspicuous black threaded screw on the back of the heart where the ashes or other mementos are inserted. I think a brown screw would have blended more nicely with the particular wood grain I selected. Perhaps on a dark the finish, the black would be less noticeable. I think that this is a nice memorial for display without being obviously funereal. ... show more

One of my fur babies just recently passed away, and I wanted something that basically reminded me of her and this was the perfect one. I do have to specify, though for anyone who plans on buying this it is tiny only a bit of the ashes will fit inside.

The media could not be loaded. This small heart shaped urn for cremains has a wood look (painted metal) and a large opening in the back with screw lid. You can house the urn on the metal stand or keep it in the included black drawstring velvet bag. It definitely looks like wood when you see it from a distance, but obviously up close you can tell just by the weight that it’s not wood but much heavier (and this is before putting in any cremains). This small urn is what I was looking for to contain a small amount of my brother’s ashes. I chose to keep the ashes in a plastic bag and not just have them loose in the urn. The screw back needs to be rotated counter-clockwise to line up the threads before securing it clockwise until it is flush and secure. The instructions recommend using a little glue to secure the cap if so desired. The metal stand is bright gold and it is nice and stable and I’m pleased with the look of it. This urn comes in several colors and I ordered “teak” but the box label said “Rosewood” so now I’m not sure if I got the right color, but regardless the color is fine by me. This will make a great desk size memorial urn. I will be using it for pet ashes but it would also be nice for human ashes. The wood grain pattern on it is well done and it seals solidly but comes with instruction to permanently seal it. It has a hefty weight to it and does not feel thin or cheap.
