Used these covers to cover gap between stovetop and counters. Pliable, yet durable. I had to trim the back two inches to form fit around my stove controls, resulting in a nice flat appearance. I bought black. Had considered metal covers at three times the price, but glad I went with these. They have plenty of grip to stay in place. A quick wipe with a damp towel and they’re clean. My large front burner (electric flat top glass stove) is 1.5” from the cover. The heat from the burner, hot pot, or frying pan has not altered the covers in any way (no discoloration or deformation). Saw a previous review with a melted spot. I don’t know how that could happen without direct contact with a hot pan or flame from gas burner. They fit well and work as expected. I purchased the black set of these stove gap covers. I had previously ordered the clear set for our last place, and those worked so well that I left them for the next tenant as a gift. These black ones fit right in with our black appliances in our new place. I have had no issues with heat when using either set of these, and I regularly crank my oven to over 425 degrees (pizza, baked potatoes, etc). Absolutely no melting or discoloration. Easy to keep clean, I just wipe with soap and water and they are back to new again, even after a heavy cooking session. I have not tried to wash these in the dishwasher, so I cannot verify that they will survive unscathed. The clear ones I purchased over a year ago did not have any discoloration after a year. The piece on the bottom that sticks out helps keep the gap covers situated inbetween the stove and the counter. Some reviewers have had problems keeping these gap covers in place, but having placed two separate pairs in two different areas, with different counters and stoves, I have never had this problem.
