This bookshelf goes super cute with my child's play area and is actually not bad quality for the price. I did knock it down a star because actually putting it together was a pain since I was missing 3 dowels that are used to hold pieces together and another was in the packages broken. It was my fault for not checking the pieces before I started putting it together but I was already halfway done once I realized the issue. Rather than take it apart and send it back, I decided to see if I can find replacements at the hardware store. I was able to find some that seemed to be the same size but unfortunately ended up being just barely too big for the holes. I couldn't get them in with just my hands but was able to get them in using a hammer and gently tapping them on. It did end up working out for me and I really love how well it goes in the playroom and has plenty of space for lots of books. I would say I recommend, just be sure to check all the pieces before you put it together. ... show more

I have two different reviews to write: one for the bookcase and one for customer service. The book case is beautiful and sturdy. I currently have 23 books of all size and thickness and I use the bottom to store my baby's toys. I believe I will have to buy another one since I ran out of room but the canvas is strong and I have not fear of ripping. Now assembly is not hard but please read the directions and look at the pictures closely. Ours came numbered incorrectly but fortunately the pictures of the manual was easy to identify which product. The only thing I would change is there is bottom front piece that needs to be places in the pegs so I wouldn't screw in the side piece all the way until you put the piece in. If you read the directions, you'll know what I'm talking about. Other than that I would definetly recommend this and its easier doing it with a partner but you can solo as well. Now customer service: 5/5 stars. The canvas came to me stained and I really didn't want to bother customer service so I tried taking it off with soap and water....but it turned my towel blue lol So I contacted the company by email for suggestions on how I can remove the stain (I just wanted to be done setting it up) but after my amazon order number and a picture, they just sent me a new one. The new one came within a week and its gorgeous so I am glad they were able to replace it hassle free. I love when customer service is professional, prompt and gets right to a solution. ... show more

My son is in school to be a teacher and when his tutoring job temporarily converted over from in person to on-line he had to bring home lot of books and needed a place to put them. Instead of buying a standard bookcase, he wanted something he could use in his future classroom. We are both so happy that he chose this one. It is nice and stylish while maintaing that kid friendly appeal and the dark wood version provided a modern feel to a classic design. We were very impressed by the strength of the wood and metal railings and its sturdiness once put together. It Honda a lot of books, even heavier ones and the bottom storage area is handy too. Everything is top quality, including the weight of the canvas. There are good instructions provided that are easy to read and have clearly understandable illustrations. It only took about 15 minutes to put together, including me steaming the canvas prior to installing it. Everything you need is included, even a screwdriver. Both of us are very pleased with this high quality bookcase at an economical price. It is sure to last him through many years in a classroom. ... show more

    • Easy to assemble
This bookcase is easy to assemble. It has a bracket on the back to secure to the wall but it's only on the left side. Seems odd - either it should be on both sides or give you the option of right or left depending on your space. It holds about 30 books and looks really clean/neat. The fabric already started tearing so the seams aren't super strong. Not sure we will be using the small pockets much longer. I like the storage area at the bottom. ... show more
