The kit is well-packaged and includes fun, vibrant colors. It also includes a glue bottle, which is only sometimes included in these kits. I am impressed with the instruction booklet. It has more tips than other booklets, yet it is easy to follow. This kit would be perfect for beginners as well as those with more experience. I have yet to finish building this, but I am excited to see how it turns out. It's so cute. I will update the review if need be. I did not realize you have to build every single little piece, including a paper box. It is a very long and somewhat frustrating project. The description says it should take about 9 hours. I couldn’t finish it in one sitting but it did take me a little more than 9 hours in total. You have to glue each piece together to build the item, including gluing on what looks like designs that were printed on a home printer. I’m not sure why they don't use stickers. Fortunately, the glue dries pretty fast but you still have to hold the piece in place for a minute or so and wait for the glue to dry before you can move on. If you put too much glue on, you will see the glue. There are numbered plastic bags with parts and pieces inside but they didn’t put everything you need to build an item(s) in just one bag, you have to look at the instructions to see what other bag the rest of the pieces are in or if you need to cut out a design from the paper. Most of the pieces are made out of painted wood (some of the thinner pieces broke off on mine) and it uses “slot-together construction” but the joints are not very tight so you still have to hold the piece in place while the glue dries. There are a lot of very small pieces so you do need tweezers which they provide. You have to be very careful you don’t make a mistake because it might not be fixable. I consider myself very handy and very crafty but this project was very frustrating to me. You will need a big workspace to spread everything out so you can find what you need. Not all my pieces lined up perfectly. The instructions were pretty easy to read and follow but you have to keep looking at the instructions to find what you need and sometimes it doesn’t tell you where it is. You also have to be comfortable working with wires to hook up the light. Two AAA batteries are needed and not included. The video makes it look super easy but that is very deceiving. My pictures look pretty decent but if you get up close you can see the quality of the pieces and the areas that didn’t line up or I messed up. The light definitely gives it a glow. I had to wire mine a little differently because I couldn't understand the instructions on a couple of steps for the wiring. It does look cool when it’s done but it is way too time-consuming for me. If you have the time and patience, you may do well with this project but if not, I would pass on it. ... show more

First thing I noticed upon opening the box- a detailed booklet of instructions. I was amazed, most of my DIY kits have one or two pages of photos, without any words, on how to assemble, not this one.. that's awesome. Also, you will need your own tools- scissors, ruler etc. This kit does come with the glue, a screw driver and tweezers. This kit, this far, has been on the easier side to assemble. There's not a whole lot of cutting tiny pieces of paper and gluing them.. Ive just begun to assemble this, but wanted to write my review based on my initial reactions and thoughts. These kits are too much fun! And I really need to slow down on getting them cause at this point I can probably build my on small town! But very much like the others it comes with what you need!
