I love my reto and it’s easy enough for a beginner who wants to take film photos but not spend insane amounts of money (although purchasing and developing the film separately is getting pricey). The only reason for docking (1) star is because this camera does Not do well in low light/dim lighting/indoors. This camera is mainly for outdoors with bright sunlight. After getting my film rolls developed, I’m finding indoor shots to be extremely dark or just incapable of viewing. The photos shot in bright sunlight, outdoors however, came out beautifully. If you’re a beginner who’s okay with shooting outdoors during the day mainly, this camera is perfect for you. It’ll be good to know this before you take hella photos on multiple rolls and get them developed, only to find half of them to be developed so dark you can’t even see what it is you actually took a photo of. That would be me if you couldn’t tell by now. Learned from my mistakes though so we’ll see on the next couple of rolls! ... show more

Compact and super light weight. Gentle with loading and unloading- the parts are thin plastic. It's easy to pull out of your purse, click for a photo and move on. There isn't a flash and even with adequate lighting and 400 ISO film, the pictures came out dark. It's fun to play with but don't trust your cherished moments to this camera! ... show more

We bought 5 of these for our wedding and 3/5 of them ended up jamming up after a few photos and not being able to finish even one roll of film. You’re better off buying a disposable camera or finding a good lot deal on some real cameras on eBay or facebook marketplace. I do a lot of film photography and these are just so flimsy and feel like a toy. Maybe worth $10. ... show more

This is a cute little camera, I'm not sure if it's worth the $$ but I do have a gripe with the design. The back is annoyingly complicated to open. You need to put pressure in order to unlock the back, but the same amount of pressure keeps the back from popping open.

The Ultra Wide and Slim is one of the best little plastic cameras ever, and RETO has brought it back! I was looking for one of the original Vivitar versions, and when I discovered that RETO was making a new version, I immediately bought one. Its 22mm wide-angle plastic lens produces amazing photos with tons of vignetting, and if the sun is in the shot, it has some ridiculous lens flare if you’re into that sort of thing. It’s small enough to carry around in your coat pocket or bag, so you can always have it with you. There’s no flash, so the Ultra Wide and Slim is definitely an outdoor daytime camera. Will it produce one of your best photographs ever? Or will it implode under the stress of its own plastic existence? You don’t know! (It probably won’t implode - none of mine have, and I’ve had several.) But it’s worth the risk. Get one! (FYI, if you’re familiar with the old Superheadz version, this new RETO version does NOT have the soft-touch finish that turned the Superheadz cameras all sticky over the years. I have over 20 different classic film cameras and this one is the most fun. I've modified the camera to accept filters. using a 34 mm to 49 mm Step Up Ring I now can use 49 mm filters. the step-up ring fits perfectly,using using 3M double-sided tape to fix the Step Up Ring to the camera. the Step Up ring blocks a portion of the viewfinder, so very carefully without affecting the threads, drill a 1/4" hole in the Step Up Ring so you can view the lower right-hand corner of the viewfinder. I developed my own black and white film so using yellow orange and red filters I can run iso 800 or 1600. black and white film . opening the door and loading film with this camera is very fiddly. I would suggest practicing you're loading technique,getting the film to load on the take-up spool is very tricky. work the shutter button a few hundred times to improve its release. this little guy is now my edc camera. ... show more

i bought the blue one and tested it out on my recent trip to universal. this camera feels like a toy! super light and portable too. i’m very impressed how my pictures came out :-) it does need to be bright out (which is cool). the last pic was still a bit sunny out but not as bright. still came out cool though! you reload the film yourself, which is really great! it’s a great swap instead of bringing your own expensive camera. i bring my ae-1 but i’m always scared of breaking it. so this was a great substitution in the meantime! i don’t leave reviews but i’m honestly so impressed! super cute and simple to use! ... show more
