  • Wow! Best Prop Ever for Mercruiser.
Size: 40 CT - 125 HP Mercury Style: 12.5" Dia. X 19" Pitch - 8m8027506
What a difference! I have 2 boats . Boat 1 is a 1998 Bayliner Capri 185 with a Mercruiser 3.0 and a 1.65:1 Alpha 1 gen 2 outdrive. Yes I know an odd pairing. The boat came with a 2.40:1, and a 23' SSLaser but i mostly cruise the rivers and bays of the eastern US with it so fuel mileage was my primary concern. I tried the 19 which works well even with the boat full of people and gas. I'm saving a fortune on fuel at cruise over the old setup and love the throttle response, cornering and overall smooth operation. Were going 200 to 400 miles a weekend in it and bringing the WOT rpms down from 4600 to 3700 makes a huge difference. We cruise at about 32mph at about 3000 to 3200 depending on weight. We burn 4 to 4.5 gallons an hour even in very rough seas. The difference in time to plane and tight turns is amazing, and the tendency to porpoise seems reduced too. So I got rid of the "wing". Boat 2 is a beautiful Arriva 21' with a Mercruiser 5.0 and a 1.65:1 gear. I replaced a ss 19" three blade prop with the 21" Nemesis, the boat comes out of the water better and runs 54mph on the top end according to the gps. Cruise is 32mph at 2600 rpm. Fuel consumption with a full load of people and fuel about 7gal per hour, a huge improvement. When I purchased for the second boat I tried a knock off. It was a big mistake I didn't see the same performance gains. So I put it in the boat house as a second spare and bought a Nemesis. ... show more

  • Great prop for the money
Size: 90 CT - 300 HP Mercury/MerCruiser Style: 14" Dia. X 19" Pitch - 8m0055535
Use on my 202 lpx with a 5.0 due to shallow lake. It's my favorite one out of what it tried. The 3 blade SS i have is like useless I reverse after being used to this, My speed is actually better with this as well. Did hit something late season hard due to dredging and was minimal damage so I was able to idle back to dock. So here I am buying another with a smile knowing I'll be alright. ... show more

I replaced a new black diamond 17 inch pitch with this Nemesis 17 inch pitch and got a better time to plane with no loss of speed.

Make sure you get the hub kit for this prop sold separately! I own a 2001 Bayliner Capri 2150, a 3,000 lb 21 foot boat bow rider with a 5.0 L MerCruiser Alpha One stern drive with a 1.62 gear ratio lower unit. We like to take the kids tubing, so acceleration is important to me. I was currently running a quicksilver black diamond aluminum 15.5 inch three blade prop with a 19 inch pitch. We would typically load the boat with a 35 gallon tank of gas, 3 adults with 3 kids, food, cooler, and gear coming in with the gross weight of appoximately 4,361 lbs. When I was pulling a 3 person tube the bow would come up real high and take a minute to get on the plane. The boat would want to plane at about 23 miles an hour but my tube riders liked it closer to 20 miles an hour so i had to keep adjusting throttle to balance speed. My top speed was around 46 miles an hour. I switched to the nemesis 14β€œ x 19β€œ pitch 4 blade prop. Took it out today, and I was immediately satisfied with how it shot out of the hole! The acceleration felt good. It quickly climbed to top speed of 42 mph at 4.200 rpm when trimmed perfect. I backed it down and could maintain plane as low 16 mph! The bite the prop has gives me way more control and traction though the entire throttle only giving up 4 mph of top speed compared to the 3 blade prop. The recommended wide open throttle of my engine is 4,500 to 5,000 rpm max. So I feel like if I had a lighter load I may get that range, but today I was running a 4,000 lb gross weight with people and gear included. My max rpm was 4,200 rpm at 42 mph. Overall I’m super happy with the performance of this prop, definitely worth the upgrade! I hope this review helps. ... show more

  • Awesome upgrade!
Size: 40 CT - 125 HP Mercury Style: 13.4" Dia. X 15" Pitch - 8m8027502
I upgraded from the stock 3-blade prop that came with the boat to gain a better holeshot and get on plane faster. This prop did both extremely well. As far as performance goes, the holeshot was amazing, it had much more dig and I was on plane 10 seconds faster than the old prop. I didn't sacrifice much in the way of top end, maybe 3-5 MPH, but I very rarely run wide open, so this was pretty much insignificant. The one word of caution I will offer is that this prop revs higher than the stock prop did. My Mercury Pro SX 115 is rated to 6300 rpms and when I trim to find the sweet spot, I could conceivably push past that. The one drawback for this prop on my setup is that the sweet spot for trim is very narrow and when you wander outside it, it's begins to porpoise. When it happens, I just trim back a bit. Overall though, I'm very happy with the purchase! ... show more
