I was worried about this headset due to the reviews but i tried it on and it fits great and is secure. My mom and my daughter both even tried it out and we didnt have to keep holding the headset like the original strap with the quest 2. It is equal weight on front and back. All and all we love it

    • From the POV of a 40 Yr Old Dad
Pros: - Light - Inexpensive Cons: - Feels cheap - Audio quality is lacking Before I go into my short review I think it's important to note that I'm a 42 yr old father who works in tech and, although I am into gadgets, I'm not a gadget connoisseur by any means. The Oculus is my intro to the world of VR and this product is only the second Oculus accessory I've ever purchased after the Oculus Elite Strap with battery. First Impression: My first impression when I received the package wasn't a great one. The first thing I noticed was that the name of the device for which this is an accessory (the Oculus Quest) was spelled incorrectly. Huge deal? Certainly not but first impressions are lasting ones and, as a result, I wasn't expecting a product of great. Build: A word that came to mind the moment I took this accessory out of the package is "light." At the time of this review I have had approximately 10 hours of game play with it on and its weight was not an issue in the slightest. I felt like I could wear this forever. It's that light. The back pad and forehead shell are held in place with Velcro. Another method of holding these pads in place could have been used, in my opinion. Although the forehead shell is held firmly, small magnets or snaps (poppers) could have been used for the back pad. The Velcro gets the job done, yes, but again, it just feels cheap. The padding is decent. Will it stand up to the test of time? Perhaps someone who isn't an avid gamer will get a couple years of use from the padding before they begin to lose their cushion. The faux leather look and feel very cheap, especially on the forehead shell. Sort of like the kind used for kids toys. I reckon sweat will begin to break it down, but only time will tell. I will admit that I do like the color. The adjustment knob feels very cheap, has a little wiggle to the touch and makes a god awful squeak when it is being tightened. Audio: The sound is good. Not audiophile quality, but who's expecting that from a $70 product? I was able to hear the games just fine. Vocals come in clearly and the bass is punchy, not overwhelming. I currently use Apple Airpods and I feel more immersed when using them (over-ear vs in-ear). Overall: Overall, it's a decent product. Treat it with care and you will get good use out of it. Would I recommend it? Yes, with a caveat. Would I buy this again? No. But again, I'm a 42 year old guy who doesn't mind paying more for higher quality products. ... show more

    • A phenomenal upgrade to an already superior product
I had the first iteration of this headset and reviewed and rated it highly, but it did have some issues. The primary and most important issue is that the original one would allow the actual Oculus to slide off from the headset. It didn't happen much, but it did always have me on guard to catch it if need be. The back of the unit also didn't stay cupped to your head as nicely as it could. Still, it was the nicest headset I had tried out for the Oculus at that point and of great quality and comfort! Now they put out the version that definitely tops it fixing the two biggest gripes on the last version even though I still absolutely felt the last one was of great quality. This one does not slide from its adjustment but is still easy to adjust. Then, where the back of it wraps around your head, they added a piece that cups around your skull better providing an even greater fit even including an additional piece for smaller head sizes! If you didn't read my original review, no worries. This one was a vast improvement on a great headset. The audio on this is exceptional! The comfort level is exceptional! You can wear this thing for hours without feeling the weight of the headset on your face or your head. The cushioned lining is extremely soft and nice and doesn't seem to get sweaty or easily dirty. My only gripe currently is the color isn't the best choice in my opinion (black is always the best option! ;) ). As a former owner of 2 cracked Oculus branded Elite Head Straps and a few other third party headset straps, this is easily the winner. You will not regret this purchase! ... show more

Firstly this is a vast improvement upon the previous version. The previous version had foam padding which the cover skin over it was thin and easily breakable. With this version there's no foam but nice Plu leather. And it having over the ear speakers attached to our is a nice touch. Also the cream orange color to it contrasting the white color of the Quest just makes it stand out nicely. But the comfort!! Oh the comfort!! I have tested this for a whole week on the most active games on Quest (Pistol Whip, Population One, Death Horizon, Espire 1, Contractors etc.) and can tell you the fit is both snug enough for gameplay and comfortable enough for long sessions. I'm talking with the extra hours that a battery pack (VR Power II) made for Quest provides. I have tried now 3 different third party Halo straps and this one takes the cake in comfort. The circular padding that supports the back of the head nestles it nicely!! And it's a choice peripheral that uses Velcro to attach. And the movable forehead piece never puts pressure on my head like the others. And it's just so convenient to have speakers connected to your Quest do you don't have to worry about earbud wires getting in your way or taking your nose or chin as you play. And the sound quality isn't bad at all. It uses a good tipped jack that goes into the Quest. I have to really keep track of my time in my VR because with the addition of the good battery pack I have and the comfort of your Halo strap there's no other indicator of how much time I spend in VR unless I put an alarmed timer on fun my phone!! ... show more

I've been using this product for a while now and it's still working. The sound quality only lacks a little because the actual earpiece doesn't sit flush against the ear for me.

The plastics do not have a premium feel, but seem sturdy and match the Oculus Quest 2 color quite good. The most weak point seem to be the headset mount, but once adjusted sits well. The beige padding looks better real life than on pictures, but feels a bit cheap. Good audio quality and excellent range of adjustment. Great deal for 30$. ... show more
