These are so beautiful! They came carefully packaged, no issues with chipping or looseness in the box. That kind of care definitely extends to the product itself, as these are just clean, pristine looking ceramic bowls. We were able to fit a small chicken in one and roasted it, with no damage at all to the bowl. It was super hot, so break out the good oven mitts for these. I love these ceramic bowls! I chose the rectangular silhouette, but they're also available in an oval. They're the same size, but the rectangles just seem like they'll hold more food (and I'm not going to do the math to prove or disprove that). They're so pretty, just a beautiful silhouette, both classic and modern. I love the integrated handles, rather than external ones; though it does mean you can't fill them to the top. But that's okay. These will be easy to seal with plastic wrap, or any other type of wrap, too. They can be used as flat trays, for instance with fruit or fresh vegetables, meat & cheese trays, etc. Or you can actually cook a casserole or side dish in the bowl, use them for desserts or appetizers. Even a nice roast would fit in them. They are also dishwasher safe, always my first choice. I've looked for something like this for a long time, and never found just the right thing for me. But these are it! $30.99 for two of them is more than reasonable, as they should last for a long time. ... show more

When I saw these Serving Bowls I knew I had to have them. The only problem was I couldn't decide which ones I wanted, the Rectangle or the Oval, after about 10 minutes comparing I choose the Rectangle. You receive 2 nice and heavy severing bowls with handles. These ceramic bowls are nice and heavy, durable and sturdy. All one piece with handles. I couldn't believe how big they actually were. Very roomy for serving food. They are white and shiny and very stylish. Will go with any decor you have. I can't wait to use them. I have always wanted something like these to serve food and have on my table. I believe they are so big you could put a whole roasting chicken inside to carve on your table. Will look very nice for the holidays. You could even take some type of paint that is safe and put design on them if you want or just leave them plain. Shipped very well with protection in styrofoam. Can be used with casual dinners or holiday dinners. Can be used to serve food or can be used for many different things. One could even be used for holding fruit and such. They are very pretty and very nice. I am very very satisfied with them. Can't wait for the holidays to show them off. Always wanted serving bowls like these and now I am thrilled to have them. I've always liked these low-slung handled serving dishes but I have an irrational allergy to the raspy-voiced celebrity chef that sells them and don't really like the bright colors of her product line anyway. However, when I saw these, i thought they were worth a shot, and I prefer white servingware anyway. They are two identical size serving dishes (not nested) and of medium weight (not too heavy, but don't feel cheap either.) They're microwave safe, but too wide to fit in most microwaves. They're oven safe, but be prepared that on high heats or too close to a heating element, you risk the ceramic taking on color. I will likely use these just for serving rather than for cooking, but I could see them being used for a low-and-slow braise of chicken or something like that. They're large enough to serve a whole roasted chicken, but could also hold corn on the cob, potatoes, a big salad, or a dessert cobbler. I wouldn't use them for something like a lasagna or a casserole you might want to put a hard broil on at the end to melt cheese or something, it might leave a burn on the beautiful white ceramic. happy cooking! ... show more

These serving platters are great! I love the size. As you can see from the picture, this fits 5 pieces of chicken, with room for more. There is plenty of space to serve side dishes to a large family without having to refill it so often or have multiple platters of the same dish on the table. I think his would look great on a table as a decorative centerpiece with fruit, flowers, or even candies inside. The handles are a nice size too and my fingers fit comfortably. ... show more
