At last. It took me months before I pulled the trigger. At this point I wished I'd done it sooner. It will take some time to learn the LightBurn program (excellent program). Just go online and find the tutorial. When I think I'm getting the hang of things I have my setting backwards. I do alot of practice cut/ marking on cardboard first. That will save you some money. When it's how you like it, cut out out on wood or acrylic or whatever you choose. The laser cut good out the box, but I watched to many videos and had to dial the laser beam in. It went from the size of a pencil lead to a needle point. When I did a pulse test for the 1st time I didn't see the laser fired but it did a super fine hole. Only use 65/70 power at most when cutting. The machine seems well built and I like the yellow, make it POP. I did upgrade the fan, I never opened the one that came with it. Plus I used a bucket with lid for my water cooler. Only because the first day I used the laser I forgot the turn water pump off and hose came off at some point. Then I had to buy more water and mop garage floor. If your on the fence I think this is a great place to started. I'm loving it. ... show more

The price is good and has better power then a glowforge. The computer software it comes with is also easy to use. I've used it on rock, wood, acrylic, cardboard, fabric and more! The downside was that it had a couple of dings in the machine when it arrived and they put the fan under the machine and you had to lift the machine in order to get it out. I have no complaints about the function of the machine at all. Great buy! Buy yours today and maybe you'll get through your families Christmas wish list before December 😂 ... show more

    • Great safety features, functionality, and value!
I went for this Orion laser cutter (I have the upgraded 55W version w/ lightbun) because it seemed to be the best value of cost, functionality and size. I will say one thing negative before going on: THE WORKING AREA IS NOT 16x24! that is the bed size and the working area is significantly smaller, which was a shame, but subracting 2 or 3 inches from that isnt toooo bad, but its a shame when larger parts make clients very happy. That being said! all the redundant safeties are extremely nice and useful. There is a main laser power switch, a lid switch, a key switch AND a water sensor switch to keep you from powering up the laser tube itself when you dont intend to. The machine produces extremely accurate cuts and engravings with minimal adjusments out of the box, and while id recommend upgrading the exhaust fan and the air assist eventually, it is more than adequate for now. Lightburn is a must for this machine if you want to take full advantage of its capabilities, so do yourself a favor and grab the version that includes it! We'll see how long this machine holds up but its built like a tank (and weighs as much as one too haha) so i think it will hold up well. Customer service also seems top notch so far, I was getting emails back from orion within the day most times, and the shipping being free was so nice. UPS is the company to go to for freight deliveries. they were courtious and prompt. In fact the laser cutter got to me a couple of weeks before it was even estimated too which was amazing. I highly reccomend choosing orion if youre looking for a good value laser cutter to add to your shop! (just beware these things are a little bigger than they look in the pics, and i think this model had the wrong exterior dimensions in at least one spot on the product page. it was bigger than i measured for) ... show more

    • Lots of Features
For the money, this laser should get 5 stars. It has features that you would find on more expensive models, like the bed size, pass through, laser pointer, and air assist. However, within a week of delivery, two of the three rocker switches on the side broke. The machine still functions properly, but the quality could be just a touch better, as could the instructions. The customer service is excellent. Emails get a response very promptly, even on the weekend, solving whatever issue I may have been experiencing. For an entry level machine, I would recommend this one. I researched Epilogue, Boss, and more higher end brands. For the price I paid for this one, the water chiller, and rotary attachment, I got all of the features I wanted in the more expensive machines, and had thousands of dollars left in my pocket. Anyone looking to start a laser business should take a serious look at the Omtech machines. ... show more

    • Great Laser Cutter
I am really surprised at how well this laser cutter works. I am using it for dollhouse miniature furniture. Once you find the sweet spot in the settings, it cuts really nice with little burn marks. The price is better than many other brands which is why I am surprised at how well it works.

    • Fair quality, good price, pretty fast delivery, not sure about customer support yet
So far it seems adequate for the price. Instructions are not great - poor translation, decent pictures and poor layout. Anyone buying this will probably figure it out like I did though its pretty simple. The product is ok... its just a simple controller hooked up to a laser tube. Wiring is pretty good so far. The quality is... fair to good. They should invest more in their translation and customer support - I haven't needed to ask any complex questions yet but so far it wasn't ideal. Next laser I will probably build my own but I think this is a good baseline or starter. Can get a 100W laser tube for $500. ... show more

    • Good value for the money
The machine was well built, and work well out of the box. Some of the hose fittings were loose on delivery, I changed them to a screw type hose clamp and have had no issues since.

    • Not the quality product expected.
Clearly states Lightburn is included but came with RDWorks. Decent program but lacking in features. First week owning the machine the on/off switch went out. Have not been able to get replaced yet. Over all there are better products for the money.
