I saw ads everywhere for these. I live in Los Angeles and summer is abusive here when you don't have a/c in your place. Plus I live upstairs. I joke that opening the door to my apartment on a hot day is like backdraft! I have two fans by my bed one on the right and one at the foot. I kept reading how this little cube thing cools a room and got one. I followed the directions and soaked the filter and froze it. After it was frozen I put it in the unit and turned it on. It would push out some cool air for about 45 minutes, then it was just another fan pushing hot air around. I accidentally left a towel on top of it and it shorted out. I put it on a plastic cutting board on my bed. I got used to having it. So I ordered another one. This one looked a little different than the first one. It had more control buttons, and a little carriage opening on top to pour the water through. I fastened the unit to another plastic cutting board (with that strong alien tape) so if I shift while napping it wouldn't go flying. I put the filter in and filled it with water. When I took it out of the box one of the front slats was missing, which was no big deal. I turned it on and whoosh! I saw the air coming out like your breath on a cold day. The slats got condensation so I put down a little hand towel in front. When I hold my hand to the front that is cool air! I thought yeah for 45 minutes then back to the regular. Not this time. The air stays cool! I'm totally mystified by this thing. My room is nowhere air-conditioned, but the spot where I hang out on my bed is pleasant. If I keep the tank filled with water the cool air keeps flowing. It will turn itself off after about 8 hours ; but you can click it back on. What I like about it is it’s compact the cords long enough it’s quiet and very efficient I use purified water from a pitcher, water seems to last five or six hours at least depending on the temperature of the room. It keeps me very comfortable while I’m watching TV or reading it’s a great added comfort to my normal AC system I’ve been able to lower my usage of my central AC system by using this unique personal Evap cooling system. This does not cool you down unless your face is sitting right in front it, even then you can barely feel it. Mine broke like 2 days after purchasing but the return process was very easy and I got my money back once they received it.

Does a decent job of blowing air maybe 3-10 degrees colder depending on humidity, primarily if you put ice cubes inside. It's not going to cool down a room, it's more of a fan. Met my expectations, I'd say its worth it.

    • I really like this chill fan. But i can't find replacement filters. Please advise!

Why is finding the replacement filters so hard? There seems to only be the Ultra filter availabe which is a larger size. The filters also get moldy very quick. I love the fan but please sell the filters and also at a resonable price.

I got 2 of these. My daughter loves to do her school work on her bed (top bunk) and in the summer time it to hot up there. I got her one to keep on her bed and it perfect. Avoid hassle and losing your money. This product simply is over advertised and just didn't work as described. Don't buy this product. There is nothing Arctic about this fan.... Even when filter is frozen.... Does no good☹️
