These chairs were horrible! We bought 1 to see if we liked it. Which we did. I ordered 3 more and put them together. All 3 had cross bars in different spots. The legs didnt fit and cracked when we tried to screw them together. It’s like the legs were for the 24” chair not the 29” which is what we ordered. We returned all 4. These stools are exactly what I was looking for. Simple, classic design, yet comfy and functional. One of the stools had a short leg missing the pre-drilled hole to attach the longer leg. If I had the proper drill accessory, I probably could have done it myself, but I don't, so... I contacted Nathan James customer service and received a prompt reply. I had hoped they could just send me the part, but they offered to send a whole, new stool. It was shipped quickly and I received it within a week. Unfortunately, the replacement stool was the wrong color and finish. Needless to say, I was a little frustrated, but customer service apologized for the inconvenience and sent yet another stool. I asked for just the part, but I guess they don't have replacement pieces, so once again, I was sent another stool, which I received within a week. This time, it was the correct stool and all is well. Within a few days, Melanie with customer service followed up with me to make sure everything was ok with the stool. About 2 weeks after that, I received a box of chocolates with an apology/thank you note from the founder of Nathan James. Very nice touch. :) ... show more

I ordered 3 stools and one was shipped separately. After putting them all together I noticed one cushion was a lot bigger than the others. I like the chairs but giving low rating for that reason. It is not worth the hassle to take one apart to send back

Ordered 3, one arrived without nailheads. Contacted customer support and they promptly sent a new stool free of charge. They followed-up to ensure the replacement stool arrived and was correct, they even sent a box of Lindt truffles with a card! An incredible family-owned company that actually cares about their product and customer satisfaction. They are a rare find these days. The stools are beautiful and easy to assemble.     • Very nice - Will wobble - But Easy Fix

I ordered 3 of the 24" stools. 1) Appearance: The "gray" fabric is probably what I would consider more of an oatmeal - somewhere between gray and a light tan. I expected this based on another review i read and I think they look great. 2) Tipping Issue I want to point out for any others reading that the reviews on this page combine reviews for the 29" and 24" stools. The tipping over issue mentioned in a lot of reviews are probably for the 29" version. These 24" stools seem like less of a tip hazard. 3) Wobbling Issue All 3 stools I ordered the "A" legs were slightly shorter than the "B" legs - maybe 1/32" of an inch such that I think the jig or tool they are using to make the legs is systematically cutting the A legs shorter than the B legs. The way the holes are predrilled, you get 2 "A" legs and 2 "B" legs which are positioned catty-corner to each other. This result in a noticeable wobble on all 3 stools. But this was easily fixed by replacing the felt pad on one of the A legs with a slightly thicker felt pad. (These worked perfectly for me and are similar size and color: https://www.amazon.com/Self-Stick-Furniture-Round-Felt-Surfaces/dp/B001WAK5XE/) 4) Ease of Assembly Assembly process is pretty straight forward but you better be quite strong or have a power drill to get the screws in all the way because the holes don't always line up exactly and thus the screws can be a bit difficult to get screwed all the way in. Luckily the screws are made of a pretty strong metal so i didn't have any issues with stripped screws. Overall I'm quite happy with this purchase and would purchase them again. These stools are amazingly comfortable and truly beautiful. However, I am returning them because they did not match my expectations. Assembly was simple, no worries there—for those that often don’t enjoy that part of furniture buying. The color of the fabric was not as pictured and therefore did not meet my needs. I expected the color of the seat fabric to be grey, a light grey; they had a sandy hue to them. From the beginning I had my concerns and asked my husband to confirm my assessment— he agreed that they were not a true grey. There was also a stain on the seat when it arrived. This was not a big deal because if I kept them I would’ve turned the stool or tried to clean it. Simply: the color is off, not what is depicted in the pictures, but I’m not sure I’ll find a more comfortable stool. ... show more

I was skeptical buying these at first because I saw a lot of reviews where the stools were broken or didn't match, but after seeing how good customer service was, I took the chance. I'm so glad I did! These stools are great quality, look nice and the cushions are extremely comfortable. Also - I saw a few reviews where people were upset that sometimes the legs didn't match up. We had one like that (shown in the pictures) and it's a simple fix. All that happened is the A and B stickers on the bottom of the cushion were place wrong and you just have to switch the legs to the correct alignment. According to the picture on Amazon the short bars should be above the longer bars. I've shown how we had assembled the one wrong and then I've also show it assembled when fixed. You don't need a replacement stool, just some patience to reassemble it if you, like us, didn't catch it the first time. We love these stools and are very pleased with our purchase! For reference, we got the gray/dark brown, 29” pub height. ... show more
