I'm approximately: 5'3", 140 lbs, waist 33", hips 43". In pants, I typically wear a 12-14 Petite. I ordered XL in the color Wine. The color is dark and gorgeous. The waist is comfortable, and has some stretch. It falls loosely over the hips, with room to move. Light and airy. Before wearing, I washed it gentle cycle, solo, and hung to dry. A little long, but doesn't touch the floor if I wear it high, at the smallest part of my waist. I can roll the waistband a couple of times to wear it a little lower or shorten it, without creating much bulk, but then I'd need an untucked shirt to cover the roll. Personally, I like to tuck a top into a maxi skirt, to show some curves. So this skirt definitely gives me a high-waisted look. This is a beautiful skirt. It's diaphanous, so the top layer is translucent and floaty, with a semi-rough texture. There is a built-in half-length slip with a smoother feel. When the sun is overhead, you can't see through the skirt. I have yet to test with the sun lower in the sky. Durability: It seems delicate, so it probably snags easily. Will have to wait and see how it holds up over time. So far, I love it because it's beautiful. I'd prefer if it were a couple of inches shorter, and possibly more durable (TBD). ... show more

I ordered this in purple which is a beautiful deep eggplant, a favorite color of mine. Usually I wear an extra large/16, but figured it would be like every other garment I’ve ordered online lately— too small. When will there ever be a standardization in clothing sizes? So, I ordered a 3x and yep, it fits perfectly. I’m 5’4” and it goes to my ankles. The fabric is chiffon which is sheer, but it’s fully lined. It will snag if you sit on or brush up against something rough, so beware.The waistband is elastic and the three tiers are shirred at the top of each which makes it fit smoothly over the top of the hips, a more flattering fit than full gathers. I love this skirt! It’s soft, floaty and feminine. Thinking of ordering it in another color. ... show more

Proportionately priced is this figure-flattering long black skirt, considering that it can be worn for an evening party or a bar-hopping night on the town, ready to handle whatever booze or wine might, by mishap, spill onto it (not applicable to the red, pink, blue, etc colors available, just specifically the black color). Evening or night attire is mentioned because this variety of shiny black fabric is rather cheap-looking in daylight or bright indoor light. The skirt will pair well with similarly shiny fabric blouses or cropped tops, which is why it might be a reasonable and affordable item to keep in one’s wardrobe. I cannot attest to the durability of the fabric, as I just received the skirt today and have yet to wear for any events or parties. What I can report is regarding the size. The photos included here are my torso and upper leg regione. The waist band is wider than I anticipated as per the size chart. The waist band does not stay in place, but slides down to the hip region; although, I might prefer this resting point because I wear desi choli blouses and often show my naval and midriff. My weight averages 120 lbs. The length of the skirt is perfect, thank goodness, as I am short only 5’3” and usually my floor length skirts and dresses need to be hemmed. I did follow the size chart, and my waist measurement is 27.5 inches. The size that I ordered was too large in the waist. The skirt has a considerable amount of elastic in the waist band, which is helpful, but only time will tell how long the elastic retains its hold. I will wear this skirt to a few holiday parties, et al, and then update my review with any significant remarks that might be of use to other shoppers. ... show more
