    • Didn't fit a '96 Ram 3500
Looked good and tested good out of the box. The plunger shaft fit the shift fork perfectly. The body of the vacuum motor where the o-ring seals was too large to fit into the housing. Also the plunger shaft was about 3mm shorter than the old one and barely engaged the indicator switch. After some time spent sanding the body dawn so it would fit in the housing, one e-clip was missing and one stretched out so it wouldn't stay on the shaft. The old clips were quality and I was able to use them. I tested the assembly before reinstalling on the axle and now the vacuum motor had developed a small leak. All this effort and now its failing before I even install it. ... show more

    • Using on a Dodge Ram 2500 3/4 ton pickup.
Appears to be very similar to the stock actuator on a 2002 dodge ram 2500 3/4 pickup front axle. Wasn't quite tho. Also replaced the indicator light switch and aluminum housing so not sure which is off but had to file the contact surfaces down on the housing for the vacuum actuator to get it into the housing far enough to insert the E-clip. The indicator light switch works with the actuator but is seems almost marginal (the vacuum actuator rod depresses the switch when engaged to indicate the axle is in 4WD). Using it for a couple months now and all seems to work as intended. ... show more

    • The savings isn't worth it!
Purchased for a 1994 ram 1500. I ignored the MANY reviews saying it won't fit in the housing. They sure were right. Didn't wanna drill on my actuator housing since I KNOW the factory vacuume unit fits perfectly and now know the doorman unit does too. This cheap-o needed the grinder and file and sandpaper taken to it to fit as intended, and obviously that's something you really shouldn't do. The actuator did hold vacuum on the bench but wasn't as smooth as the doorman or the bad original, but seemed like it was passable. Not at all. After installed it wouldn't engage or disengage without a quick rev or two up past 3000 rpms, and that's not something you should do unless you want to hear a loud expensive noise under your truck one day. Don't buy this thing, unless you need a reminder about how trying to be cheap can end up costing money and time ... show more

    • Not a good purchase
The media could not be loaded. It would not fit into the housing at all. Had to open up the actuator housing in order to slide it in. And then the product failed after just 2 months of operation. The diaphragm went bad and allowed gear oil in the vacuum system and no 4 wheel drive

    • I need the whole part including actuator and the part that connects to front axle
It was impossible to install to the forked part that hook's to axle. Can I order the whole thing already put together? So I can just take old one off and replace the whole actuator and shift fork?
