  • You're either going to love these or hate these
Size: 10.5 Color: White/Harbor Mist
I want to preface this by saying that this a shoe that wont work for a lot of people. This is by far one of the strangest running shoe designs out right now. If you've just got into running and pace an 8-9+ minute mile, these are not for you. However, if you're pacing below that, these could definitely change your running. They are absurdly comfortable, and after awhile you really get a feel for how the shoes are supposed to "work." They are incredibly light, and you'll feel like a feather on your long distance runs. No one is going to spend this much on a pair of shoes without doing their research, and if you're already a fairly advanced runner I'm sure you know what you want in a pair of shoes. Like I said, if this shoe works for you it will WORK for you. ... show more

  • These are not for everyone, and that's ok
Size: 7.5 Color: White/Harbor Mist
I do distance running as a hobby and was really excited to get these on and test them out. My current go-to running shoes are the adidas adizero SL Running Shoes, which are nice for distance and slightly cushioned. When putting them side by side to these Wave Rebellion Pro 2's, there is probably 2x the amount of cushion on these vs the adizero's, so I was curious how this would effect my speed and the longevity of my runs. This shoe is probably the strangest shoe I've ever ran in. When I first put them on, I felt like I was walking on stilts. Getting used to the large amount of cushion aside, I think that running shoes are a very personal choice and the best fit for you is based on how your foot strikes when you run. So, it's hard for me to say that these are bad shoes, because I don't think that's the case at all. However, I personally did not enjoy running in them. I am an Over-Pronator when I run, meaning that my foot tends to roll inward when I strike, and these shoes make that absolutely miserable. I'd say it was borderline painful until I figured out how I'm supposed to run in these to prevent being in pain. I've read reviews about this shoe from professional running blogs, and they recommend this shoe for someone with amazing posture and form, which I (as a hobby runner) certainly do not have. The pain of wearing them aside, I thought they gave me a better mile time because of how springy they were, but I hated them so much that I ended up going home and changing back into my adizero's after the first mile of my run. I will say that they forced me to have better posture and focus more on where my foot was striking, which was kind of a cool experience given that I don't usually focus on that when I am running. I also didn't like the lack of ankle support, which might not be a problem for someone with a lot of strength in their ankles. Even with the challenges I had with these, I don't see myself abandoning these shoes altogether. I won't wear them for long distance runs, but I think I can use these to start training myself to strike mid-foot and have better posture when I run. I will probably throw these into the running rotation when I know I have a short run to do that day. Bottom line: These shoes are not for the novice or casual runner; these shoes are meant for experienced runners who are already good at running. ... show more

  • Interesting design and nicely made
Size: 10.5 Color: White/Harbor Mist
My son has been running track and cross country in high school and wanted to try these shoes out to compare against the Nike shoes he typically runs in. They certainly look like professional running shoes in terms of the overall build quality, but I haven't seen a sole design quite like them before... it's been 30 years since I ran in high school though... Here's his opinion on the shoes after running in them a few times. At first, when I stepped into the shoes, it felt really weird walking around because of the heel drop-off feature, but when I ran in them, they felt bouncy and made me go to my toes when I was running. There is a lot of cushion and they are fairly stable except for the back near the heel where it could get a little shaky if you are a heel-prone runner. Also, the heel lock on the shoe isn’t that great but it also has to do with what socks you wear. ... show more
