    • Great Slip-ons For Walking

My profession requires that I remove my shoes a lot, so slip-ons work great. But all the other slip-ons I've had in the past were not great for walking much further than a block or two. The sole just wasn't right. These are completely different, having a great sole for walking. I probably wouldn't walk over three miles in them though, but that's because a slip-on isn't going to give you the same firm control at the top of the shoe, but these do very well--rather snug up top but not too snug. I should also mention the arch support. These have the same arch support as the more recent Moab walking shoes, and is something I like, although it did take some getting used to when they changed a few years ago. I've suspected the design change is to allow the arch support to be proper for a wider variety of arches, but in any case, it works very well, at least for me with moderately high arches. ... show more

I retired a pair of these about 15 years ago and could not get a new pair of the same size and color at the time I wanted to order another pair; so, I ordered LL Bean's equivalent. I've been wearing LL Bean's equivalent shoe for the last 15 years now, and am very happy with them, but they're are beyond worn out now and falling apart, not acceptable for wearing on shopping trips, etc around town. The only thing I didn't like about the LL Bean's shoe was that I always had to pull the back tab to get them on over my heals when putting them on. If I just slid my feet in unassisted and didn't bend over and pull on the tab they would squash down in the back and be all annoying until I stuck my finger into my heel and straightened it out. Now that I'm older with arthritis it hurt a little to bend over and use my finger to straighten it out. This time, Merrill's Mocs were available in my size and width, but not in my color choice, so I got a different color, because I really wanted Merrill Mocs like I had many years ago. And I'm NOT disappointed. I can slip them on 'single-footedly'; the backs are stiff and strong enough so that I don't have to use the available back pull tab. The only problem I found with these new shoes are, even though the arch supports are very good (I need arch supports in all my shoes), they are a little far back for my particular foot's arches so the front of my heel rides on them a bit instead of the inside of my arch. So, they're not quite as comfortable as I remembered them to be way back 15 years ago. I used to have a pair of Dr Shoels arch supports that you could customize by cutting some off the front and back to adjust them to one's particular foot profile. I may look around to see if they still have those and expirement with a pair. UPDATE: since writing this I did find a pair of Air Foam Insoles product by TopCare Health at my local Lowes Food Store. They are foam-inserts; not meant to be arch-supporting, but they work great. Very comfortable footwear now :) ... show more

    • These shoes have MUCH higher quality than I expected.

From heel to toe, I’m happy with these shoes, and I feel that they’re are a great buy. I understand these shoes are a semi well-known brand, not purely just a no-name chinese cheapo pair. That might have something to do with the good quality of these shoes. The sort of inexpensive Chinese shoes that I’ve bought from Amazon previously have all had some problem that quickly showed where the money was saved. Either a lack of padding,or a thin sole, slippery tread or some other sort of quirk that makes the pair of shoes wearable for about a month at the most before it’s time to trash ‘em. These shoes stop that streak. Like I said, from the heels to the toes, the shoes are extremely supportive, comfortable, durable, nice looking and economical. The fit I bought, US 11, is comparable to other US 11 shoes I own and the shoes fit very well. I do t have any blisters or irritated areas after a couple weeks of everyday wear at work. The tongue is well padded and there is decent arch support. The sole has good cushioning and the tread is supple and quiet, yet nice and grippy too, which I’m happy for with another icky midwestern winter coming any day now. Just buy the dang old things lol, you can spend hours reading review after review and who wants to do that? Not me, and now you don't have to either, just buy these!     • Great fit for narrow foot

I have a narrow foot and always have a problem finding a good fit. Medium are usually too wide, but these are a good fit and the size was perfect. These have a good support arch. I like the rubber sole as they grip well, even though they might not last as long as a vibram sole.

I have bought the Merrell Moab series for several years and like them a lot but didn't like what was currently available so I decided to try the Jungle Moc. They are very comfortable and a bit lighter duty than the Moab but a good everyday shoe. They tend to run a bit short and narrow. I would normally buy a 10.5 wide width but have to move it up to an 11 medium width to fit comfortably. The shoe is a bit loose but I like them that way and they are a very easy on-off. ... show more

I have been wearing the Jungle mocs for a long time now. With the last pair Merrill appeared to have changed the last that the shoe is built on and it was too narrow. I normally wear an 11 in this shoe so I ordered an 11.5 and it fits perfect!
