if you don’t love anderson .paak then you’re wrong.

  • Docking 1 star for the packaging but the music still makes it a 4
ALBUM: 5 stars Anderson.Paak is one of the best artists out right now. Is he hip hop? Is he soul? Is he R&B? He's kind of all of it. If you don't know his work, check out his NPR Tiny Desk show and you'll see what I mean. SELLER: 2 stars You just don't ship records in padded envelopes. Cardboard box, guys! The record was not damaged but the cover is bent at each corner. It's just aesthetic but hey records are special these days and you expect a new album to be pretty pristine, allowing you to be the one to add defects to it. ... show more

  • Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this album... but the vinyl has issues
Malibu Just to make things clear, I absolutely LOVE this album. I have a subscription to a music streaming provider, and I can't even begin to count the number of times I've listened to this album all the way through. Legitimately one of my favorite albums ever. Paak is one of the most brilliant musicians out there, and probably my favorite as of now. Because of this, I decided to buy the vinyl for this album - I don't buy vinyl often, but I shell out the money when it's totally worth it. The one star I'm giving here is for the vinyls themselves. I received the records in two days (as promised) and everything looked sweet - packaging, the records themselves, the poster insert, etc. However, when I played the A side of the first LP on my record player, I quickly noticed that the first track was skipping!!! It resolved after the first song... then when I flipped to the B side, the first track skipped yet again! Moving onto the 2nd LP, the same issue occurred. At first I thought it might be a problem with my vinyl player, but none of my other records had this issue. I figured the records were defective, so I ordered a replacement. When I received the replacement in a few days, the SAME EXACT thing happened! I'm convinced that the master record used to press this batch of vinyls was not of good quality, since the first track of each side of each LP seems to skip when played. I'm writing this review in hopes that the seller will notice. I really do want the vinyl, but after receiving two shipments with exactly the same issue, I'm skeptical. If the seller could shed some light on this, I'd really appreciate it!!! ... show more

  • SLEEPER Album
If you know about anderson .paak, then purchasing this album is easy for you. You don't and ypur looking because of word of mouth, heard a single or etc... Your sleep and hurry up and buy and LISTEN to this album. When your musical ears are perked again when you hear "feel good music" and the sunshine hits your face, just a smile and nod is all that is required. Summertime is here!!! ... show more

  • This should be 2016's Album of the Year
I think my review of this album will be redundant, but this album is absolutely one of the best I've heard, period. I'd be shocked if it doesn't win Album of the Year at the Grammy's. It's really a phenomenal listen if you haven't yet.

  • Old school vibe without being cliche. Great stuff here.
I love how he brings in old school and new school elements into this album. I love the whole thing. Im not much of a fan of most new hip hop, R&B, & rap but this is definitely worth the time and money. At first I only liked certain tracks but the entire album has grown on me. Get it....and go see him live or at least look him up on youtube. It'll make your big toe shoot up in your boot! ... show more

  • Great release of a top tier album
If you're here reading this, you likely already know the material. If not, just know that this is one of the best albums of the last five or so years, and certainly top tier R&B / soul. This album is best listened to as one work, but the tracks still hold up split into singles or on shuffle. Excellent, excellent listening The vinyl pressing is wonderful. It comes with a sweet poster and the choice for two LPs was wise here. Anderson. Paak is famous for being a bit of an anomaly, with his rapping and drumming, and you can really here the range and the percussion. ... show more

  • Best hip hop album of 2016
Paak encapsulates so many aspects of hip hop in this album. It starts soulful with some R&B vibes and evolves into rap and then back into a melodic feel. It also has elements of blues and jazz throughout the album. Overall great work of art.
