Frequently asked questions

To develop photos from the Kodak Funsaver, you need to take the entire camera to a photo development service that handles 35mm film. Many drugstores, supermarkets, and dedicated photo shops offer this service. Make sure not to open the camera yourself, as exposing the film to light can ruin the photos.

The standard Kodak Funsaver One Time Use Film Camera is not designed for underwater use. It does not have waterproof features, so using it underwater or in excessively wet conditions could damage the camera and film. Kodak does make a waterproof version intended for such conditions, so be sure to look for that specific model if you need an underwater disposable camera.

Each Kodak Funsaver camera is pre-loaded with a 27-exposure roll of 35mm film, allowing you to take up to 27 photos. It's always a good idea to plan your shots accordingly, especially for special occasions or travels.

The Kodak Funsaver comes pre-loaded with Kodak 800 speed film, which is versatile for various lighting conditions, providing good results both indoors and outdoors. The camera is designed as a one-time use device, so you cannot reload it or choose a different film speed. The 800 speed film is part of what makes the Funsaver easy and convenient for all types of casual photography.

Customers rave about the Kodak disposable cameras, highlighting their portability, ease of use, and the unique charm they bring to capturing memories, particularly during travels, parties, and family events. With the ability to produce photos that have a nostalgic and authentic feel, different from the pristine images of digital cameras, these disposables offer a delightful throwback to the 1990s film aesthetic. Despite some limitations in certain lighting conditions, the overall consensus is one of satisfaction for creating memorable, tangible keepsakes.

Pros

  • 📸 Great for weddings, parties, vacations, and capturing candid moments
  • 👶 Perfect for kids and family trips, offering a fun and educational photo-taking experience
  • 💵 Inexpensive and worry-free compared to high-end digital cameras
  • 🎞️ Unique film aesthetic with rich colors and pleasing grain
  • 🛠️ Easy to use, simple point-and-shoot mechanism

Cons

  • 🌞 Struggles with overexposure in bright daylight or beach settings
  • 🌜 Limited performance in low-light conditions without flash
  • 💸 Requires additional expense for film development

Should I Buy It?

If you're nostalgic for the 1990s film aesthetic or looking for a simple, cost-effective way to capture memories, these Kodak disposable cameras are a fantastic choice. They're particularly recommended for special occasions, travels, and as a fun, educational tool for kids. Despite the extra step and cost of film development, the unique and charming photos they produce make them worth considering. Just keep in mind their limitations in very bright or low-light environments.

  • Worry-free travel and party camera for perfect nostalgia photos
These disposables have earned a reputation for being great for weddings, parties, and nights out, but I’ve particularly enjoyed bringing these on vacations and travels to capture snapshots that have more “feeling” than the sterilized, technically ideal photos off my iPhone or mirrorless DSLR. They also have the benefit of being inexpensive. You don’t have to worry about them being stolen or broken. The little plastic lens gives *just enough* distortion toward the edges without spoiling the effect and the ISO 800 film provides rich colors and a pleasing amount of grain. I’ve gotten the best results on overcast days, shaded scenes, and during golden hour, and mostly always shooting with the flash on. In broad daylight or bright scenes (I.e. by the pool, on a beach, on a boat) the film tends to overexpose and wash out a bit (it’s ISO 800 and 1/100s shutter after all). Right after sunset you really need to be close up to the subject to get a good exposure. At night, on the street (in New York City, for example) you need to use flash or you’ll be very underexposed. Inside at a party, dimly lit bar or restaurant, this camera takes great photos with flash, so long as your subjects are 6 feet or less from the camera. If you enjoy the 1990s film aesthetic and want to bring this to a party or night out, I highly recommend it. I also highly recommend bringing one on vacation to take some memorable shots to compliment your phone and “nice camera”. ... show more

  • Love these!
Just like the ones I took to my middle school dances! We purchased these for my son’s 7th birthday and it was so fun to keep the pictures a mystery. Cameras worked well with no issues!

  • Super Bundle !
I am taking my family to Hawaii and wanted to let my 10 year old grandson take his own photos to record his experience. My Nikon digital was not appropriate for him but this two camera bundle was perfect. Inexpensive but functional. Perfect for a kid ..just point and shoot.

  • Good/fun
First time using a disposable camera and it was alright! I Only liked a couple of the photos I took but that’s mostly bc I didn’t like the placement of the camera which was totally my fault. It’s expensive considering you have to develop the film too but it was definitely fun. Note: I took it on a trip and had no idea you’re not supposed to let film go through the x-ray machine during tsa search……it only went through the machine once but they still came out good. ... show more
