I've owned a few pair of flush cuts over my career as an electrician. I really love these knipex ones and they stay true to the quality that we all know and love. But you have to ask yourself are you willing to pay this much for a brand? They're more than double the price of any other mini flush cutters that do just as good a job and my crescent ones have lasted me going on 8 years. These flush cuts are pretty much the same standard flush cuts you'll find anywhere else unlike their channel locks or side cutters that are clearly superior to their competitors. In all honesty I much prefer my coworker's vise grip flush cuts to these ones. But hey if you're a big knipex fan and all of your tools are knipex, you won't be disappointed! ... show more

I use these at least 12 hours per day at least six days per week. Repair laptops, drones, automation controls, etc. This is not the shear type cutter I know I should use on sensitive component leads. It is a 'snip' type cutter. Snip type cutters are notorious for shooting cut-off lead with an audible snip noise. That noise is a result of the energy sent into the component package! These here snips do not make that noise while snipping component leads and they do not send lead cut-offs flying across the room - I think this is because of 1) better steel used. 2) Sharper cutting edges. and 3) Mating / geometry of cutting edge alignment. Most snips are actually a blade that runs into an anvil. (under microscope you see this - as their blade edges do NOT align edge to edge). These snips have a perfect alignment. The blade edges STAY sharp under abuse. It's a FINE tool. ... show more

My 3rd set of small shear cutters, I was disappointed with the Wiha and Xuron equivalents (both prior Amazon purchases) because they didn’t last. The spring mechanism in these designs is often just stuck behind the vinyl cover on the handles, with time it invariably comes free—making one handed operation impossible. The Knipex design uses the same technique, though I decided to try the brand after friends’ recommended it for quality. The shears are ground well and have a good fit in my hand, there is a bit more tension in the spring than the other brands I have tried, though it’s not uncomfortable. Purchased last winter, still functional. These are top end in terms of cost, hopefully they will last & justify the purchase. ... show more

    • Excellent Copper Wire Snips (too soft for guitar strings)

These are excellent soft wire snips. Unfortunately, I ordered them when half asleep and misread their capabilities on Knipex's site. I had planned on used them as guitar string cutters and the strings are just a bit too hard for them and have put divots in the cutting edges. This is my fault. In the undamaged section though, they still cut through copper wire like butter and leave clean edges. They are very comfortable and their spring action makes them easy to use one handed without fear of dropping them. Due to their small size and angled head, I was hoping they would make amazing guitar string cutters to get in close to the machine heads without fear of making contact with anything else.     • More fragile than they look or feel.

This is quite fragile due to poor design of bend metal meaning force prys the rivet apart with pressue eventually allowing the blade edges to slide past each other rendering the clipper useless as the edge cutter. Considering how apparently durable it looked, it is only for small electronic work and abolutely not for 3D printer cleanup. ... show more

Over the past few years i have become a firm believer in the knipex brand. Whenever i need a new tool i always buy knipex. I used to purchase craftsman and other store bought "Cheap" tools, but i always needed to replace them in a few years. Knipex is solid when it comes to craftsmanship and quality. I needed a pair of snips, and these fit the bill. Great product, have snipped over 1,000 wires and they cut like new. ... show more

As an electrician I need good flush cuts for zip ties. Bought many types of flush cuts for cutting zip ties, these are by far and away the best. Smooth action and a solid spring design that shows no signs of weakness. Steel seems to be high quality and is very sharp. Will buy again when necessary.

The hinge on these is great. Great action on the cut and very well made. I use flush cutters very often and these are above all the best I've had and I have tried many different manufacturers. These along with all of knipex's tools are extremely high quality and in my opinion very worth the cost if you are using them professionally.
