  • Fantastic. Just buy them.
Color: Ebony
These speakers just do everything right. The bass is tight and clear. Although I have a subwoofer, I don't need one. Mid range and treble are also excellent. I listen to all genres of music at all volumes and the speakers simply do not care. "Bring it on," they said. Their versatility is enough for 4 stars, alone, the 5th star is for the fact that they just sound so damn good. Soundstaging is also great. I listen to a lot of live classic rock albums and these speakers make me feel like a spectator in a floor seat. They flawlessly handle bass-heavy rap, acoustic country, classical music, heavy metal, and of course classic rock. My friends have openly expressed jealousy over not owning these, themselves. I would strongly recommend these to anyone. Stop scrolling and just buy them. ... show more

  • Good Overall Sound Quality
Color: Ebony
Recently got a pair of RP-500M's at a newer "clearance price point" to compare against a couple of my other favorite speakers - Energy RC-10 & Klipsch RP-150M. All feature ~ 5" woofers and 1" metal tweeters (titanium) in a horn, Klipsch, or (aluminum) in a waveguide on the Energy. To my ears the RP-500M's mids and treble sound SLIGHTLY more refined and detailed than through the RP-150M's. Almost a wash. If you're on the fence, the RP-150M sounds just about as good as the RP-500M's. The RP-500M's are almost the equal of the RC-10's. However, the Energy's just sound smoother and more "full bodied and balanced" across the musical spectrum regardless of genre. Too bad Voxx International, the parent company of both Klipsch and Energy, doesn't seem to be focused on refining/marketing the Energy brand. Again, in my opinion only, the Energy's exceed either Klipsch model regarding sound and construction quality. The RC-10's are finished in real wood veneer. Klipsch are finished with "wood look" vinyl. Energy RC-10's "take the cake." ... show more

  • These speakers sing like angels
Color: Ebony
After having struggled for years to find the sound that met my needs, I discovered and owned Definitive Technology BP towers for over twenty years, and I loved every single moment of the experience. Well, that experience came to a screeching halt when the family pet managed to break one of my speakers... Multiple attempts were made to arrange for repair of the damaged speaker, in the end to only be told the parts are unavailable, ship it to us "you pay for the several hundreds of dollars in shipping costs" and we'll see IF it can be repaired. Well, at this point anything else can fail, twenty-year-old speaker and all. I needed a quick fix to keep the sound, ANY sound going. I quickly purchased a set of bookshelf speakers from a well known reputable brand. I didn't expect the experience to match the Def Techs, but I expected a better experience than I had. Well, after several months I upgraded to a set of four Klipsch Reference line speakers. It was a vast improvement on first model I tried by a different company. I learned of the limitations of the Reference line models after a few months. My ears needed more. A little bit more research was needed... Enter a bigger budget and better perspective. I had acted in haste. Well, enter the Klipsch Reference Premier line. I'm immediately impressed by these speakers. My sound is restored! The Klipsch slogan "Keeper's of The Sound" is absolutely applicable when referring to the Reference Premier line. I will be gradually updating my entire speaker system to Klipsch RP. ... show more

  • Expensive, sure, and also pretty great
Color: Walnut
Timbre matched to the RP-504C as fronts while awaiting RP-8060Fs. Pushed 75w to each and thoroughly enjoyed their ability to produce highs. Mids are also pretty great. They struggled as frequencies dropped near 80Hz, though supposedly they can handle lower. I think the 600Ms are likely a better value for your money in that way. Still, I'm using 2 pair for my surrounds and rear surrounds, and they're pretty great. ... show more

  • Great sound, but buy a subwoofer too
Color: Ebony
Nice sound reproduction, but they're bookshelf speakers, the don't have a great low end. Would probably be fine in a smaller room, but the bass gets lost in my living room. I bought the wireless subwoofer to go along with them, and the sound is great

  • Great Klipsch bookshelf speakers!
Color: Walnut
I bought these Klipsch RP-500M Reference Premiere Bookshelf Speakers to supplement my Dad's old system. The seller delivered them without damage and on time. I have since added a Denon 7.2 AVR and a pair of Klipsch Reference Premiere Tower Speakers and a HSU subwoofer. My home theatre system sounds amazing. I just need to add a center speaker, another surround pair, and another subwoofer to complete the true 7.2 setup. When that happens I'll place these on the rear wall near the ceiling. ... show more
