The media could not be loaded. Overall, I really like my purchase. There are Tips, Pros, and Cons I want to list for other people thinking of buying this. Tip: This purchase does not include a DC charger or D size batteries. Those are sold separate. You can choose either one, but you can’t use both at the same time for this trash can. In my opinion, 4 of the D size batteries are better than the DC adapter cable because I like to move my trash can with me throughout the house (I bought the Rolling trash can) and with the DC adapter, the trash can has to be plugged in for the Vision Sensor to work. Meaning, no plug, no sensor. I say Vision Sensor because as long as there’s something in front of the sensor, the trash can will open. You don’t have to move a lot for it to open, which brings me to the Pros and Cons. Pros: 1. Very Convenient. I bought the rolling trash can so it can move with me. The sensor makes it so that I just I have to put my hand in front of it and it will open. No need to move around crazy for the sensor. I don’t have to touch it and it’s almost effortless! Even if my hands are full, if I stand in front of it, it will open. Love that! 2. Pet Lock. There’s a slider to stop the trash can from opening for just anything. Whether it’s a kid messing with the trash can or a pet that wants to go through the trash. 3. There’s a Odor Filter. I rarely have trash that smells bad. To be honest, I mostly use it to throw out paper, but the filter comes with the trash can, so that’s great for anyone that throws spoiled food or diapers. 4. The D size batteries last for 2 years. Cons: 1. Trash Can is not “rechargeable.” If you use the AC adapter, it has to stay plugged in for the sensor on the trash can to work. Otherwise, it’s like any other trash can where you have to lift up the lid yourself, which is fine, but that defeats the purpose of buying a Vision Sensor trash can. Not going to lie, this disappointed me. I thought if I plug in my AC adapter for a period of time, it will “charge” and stay charged. Unfortunately, that is not the case. 2. The battery compartment for the D Size Batteries is under the lid, under the filter, and INSIDE the trash can. When I read this in the manual, this design did bother me because not only do you have to put the trash lid upside down to install batteries, it also bothers me to think that if someone was filling this trash can to the top with something that smells disgusting, that same disgusting trash will be touching where the batteries go. You can clean it, but I feel like the battery compartment should of been put on the outside of the lid, not the inside, and especially under a filter that you also have to take apart. A good spot for the battery compartment would have been next to where the input for the AC adapter was, which was on the back and outside of the trash can. I’m just saying. Again, I mostly use this for paper, so it’s not a problem for me. It will be for other people. Just a reminder that these Pros and Cons are to help other buyers to decide if they want this trash can. The best feature is not its auto opening lid, but that it rolls easily and can be placed next to where I am prepping food. No spills on the way to the garbage can, because it is right there. The Auto-open feature is useful if your hands are messy and you don't want to touch the can's lid. When friends come over for dinner, they seem to enjoy making the lid open and close. I have 2 Ninestar touchless trash cans, 3 gal for my bedroom & 1.9 gal for bathroom and both are working out better than ever thought. Wanted one for the kitchen so no longer need under sink or hang bag on back of kitchen chair but none really fit. Took another look and saw this with the wheels just what i needed. It does everything i expected from touchless can but also giving me the option of sliding it around the kitchen were ever its needed. Funny bought first one as lightning deal but now see these are really worth having. Update: Very happy with this can, working out perfectly and yes get the model with wheels. 13 gallon draw string bags fit fine if you use it like its supposed to not hanging half way down the outside of the can but if you want that look then go for little bigger bag. It takes little work to get bag so its held on by plastic collar the trick is to use the draw string as the guide when you replace in the can the 13 gal does reach the bottom. The lid does really block odors but once opened its like punch in the face but goes away when lids is closed not sure if that oder eater bag matters have to wait. Suprising just how much garbage 13 gallon can holds when you see just how compact it is, sadly only have room one would have liked second for recyclables. If you have the room its worth every penny Update: working out so good now own 6 what i call magic trash cans. I found better to buy name brand than china knock offs, prices really aren't that different but dependability is and checked with manufacturer it does take rechargeable batteries just will have little shorter life than alkaline batteries. Yes buy the can with wheels than can be locked but better to have them than not when needed. Bjs and Costco have good prices for draw string bags and buy scented ones it helps and so does odor bag just remember to replace it i get 4 months on average. Update: April 2022 and still going strong could not live without these now. Added another one for upstairs bathroom and Walmart Mainstay which work just as good but lot less $$$$ just no wheels but I'm sure could find something to fit it on that would give it mobility. You will think don't need one until you get one ... show more

I bought this because it has a lid that would automatically close and it is the appropriate size for my bathroom. That is what I like about it. When I received it, it was missing the trash bag retainer ring, which I would like to have. The 4 gallon bags I bought did not fit, they were too small due to the rectangular width and depth. We originally purchased this garbage can back in 2018 and have always loved the auto sensing so that you don't have to touch the garbage can. Its a very sleek looking can and cover. That one finally died (4/2023) and so we ordered a whole new one. This one has the wheels and I'm liking this feature as well for easy cleaning and moving around.
