The media could not be loaded. This is pretty overkill and overwhelming for a complete beginner, but if you're serious about astronomy, you don't want to settle for those cheap "toy" telescopes. I have another telescope with an "equatorial mount", but it's a "refractor type" (where the eyepiece is on the back) This is a reflector type ("Newtonian reflector"), which uses mirror instead of lenses, which allows for a much bigger aperture (150mm). The eyepiece is also on the front as opposed to the back. One thing that annoyed me about this is that you actually have to build the tripod completely yourself too!! Don't even bother with the ridiculous, convoluted terrible manual - just watch the tutorial setup video to save you a lot of headache. ... show more

The phone adapter if not that good in my opinion. The tripod is a little shaky and could be more sturdy but not that big of a deal. Other than that it works great. This is our first telescope. We can see the lines on Jupiter and the rings on Saturn, these are not in great detail but you can make it out and it was great! You can see Great details on the moon. ... show more

The optics were missing in my package I put the rest together thinking that it would be shipped separately maybe but the tripod was very cheaply made and the control knobs were jumpy or sticky it may have smoothed out with the optics bit ill never know as I sent what I had back overall very disappointing ... show more

This is an easy to assemble telescope. Once setup I used the moon as a point of reference to adjust the finder scope then moved to Jupiter and Saturn. I could see Saturn and it’s fine as well as the moons (bright dots) orbiting Jupiter. This easily shows the details of the moons with its craters. The moon moves out of view fairly quickly along with the planets so adjustment is necessary. ... show more

I bought this telescope for my family. Our kids and I are novice We live pretty out there in the woods so we get a great view of the sky. First the telescope came in a storage/carrying case and was pretty easy to take out with its tripod. What amazed us was the 3 eyepieces in one that was easily rotated. Didn't have to remove any eyepieces like our last telescope. My little ones loved it when we focused in on the moon. The highlight was the smartphone adapter which really interested our teenage son. He attached his smartphone to the telescope and we were able to see through the camera in big screen and the kicker...we were able to take pictures and video everything we looked at. Love this telescope. The magnification of this telescope is incredible. I love looking at the stars and the sky, this is the perfect tool for me to really see what’s out there. I love the different eye pieces and I have been able to see saturn, jupiter, Mars, moon. Focusing is difficult due to the shaking when touching the telescope. The 5X zoom is great for the moon. Anything else will move out of view too quickly. If you want a closer view of the planets, I recommend the electronic ones with a heavier base. These will follow the planet or stars as the Earth moves. The negative thing about this telescope is the finderscope. It is too difficult to adjust to get it right on target. I had to use a plastic to lift it to almost get it right. Otherwise it is a decent telescope. ... show more
