While I'd like it to do some things it doesn't, they're few. I enjoy it to the point of addiction and the flexibility of design possibilities are fun and numerous. I think most any style of home can be built. I was thinking of buying artcatectual Legos to build houses. This is better. I love it! But, patience is a must! You are not going to hammer out a house plan in a week, unless your a professional. Which I am not. If you've had a punch pro program before, then you know the basics of this program, The rest just takes time to learn. Use the manuals, you will need them. There's sub categories after sub categories, furniture, cabinets, plants, walls, textiles, flooring, appliances, and all the colours to change everything. There are additional catalogs you can download from chief architect. Most are free. 3D views and walk through is also on the program. You will occasionally beat your head on your desk. I've had the program a year and am still learning. Upgrades are available for this program as whole. Technical support is awesome!!! I had trouble with a bad USB, trying to install on new computer. Called talked to 3 ppl. Email my receipt, had a new download available immediately, a new USB drive in the mail. ALL IN UNDER 10 MIMUTES of my time. They were great! I'm sure other technical problems could take longer, but I haven't had any. Nice, efficient. Helpful and polite. ... show more

Tried buying this again, assuming/hoping it would now be the up-to-date version. But, alas, no. It was the 2021 version again. And, it doesn't matter if you buy this as a download or on a USB stick; it'll be the 2021 version either way. Keep in mind the company also released a 2022 version. So, for the last 2 years, what's being sold is the 2021 version, even though a newer version had already been released. You can get a free update to the 2023 version. But, be prepared to jump through a few hoops -- and to give the company all your personal information (why do they need that??). At this point, you have to assume the out-of-date 2021 version is being sold on purpose, with the hope that at least some buyers don't know, or don't bother, to get the free update to 2023 right after they make the purchase. That way, there's the likelihood that some of those users will then end up coming back to pay for an update sooner than they might otherwise have (i.e., you'll want an update sooner if you have the 2021 version versus having started with the 2023 version). I had a very hard time with this software. I purchased it for a remodel project. I can’t seem to make it do what I want, so for me it was a complete waste of money. Sorry for being negative! I had 2 contractors come to my home and show me remodel ideas. They used the same software (I asked what software they were using) and BOTH of them had issues making it work, so I don’t feels so bad! Bought this to design our new house and quickly became addicted. It’s like the greatest video game ever created! I was familiar with Chief Architect so it was like riding a bike but some may find it to be not very user friendly.

    • Difficult to learn and can only use on 1 computer

As the other reviews say, this software is difficult to learn and use. It is more cumbersome than many other softwares, but that is not the reason for the low score. They do offer many videos and step by step guides on how to use and once you get started learning it, it starts to flow easier. You just need more experience in home building to be able to use this. The reason for the lower review is that everything I read said you can install this software on multiple computers at once, which is true. But what they don't tell you until after you buy it, is that while you can INSTALL it, you can only activate it on one computer at a time. Every time you want to use it on another computer, you have to deactivate the key and activate it on the other computer. If you want to use the software on 2 computers without deactivating, you have to have another key, which will cost you another $100. But no where in their advertising does it say this. ... show more
