This is more like a jeweler’s loupe than anything else. If you are expecting something that works like binoculars you will be disappointed. You have to hold the scope right up against what you are looking at or you won’t get focus. Once you are very close to the object move slightly closer or further away to focus. Of course your eye has to be right against the other end of the scope with the other eye closed. If you use it correctly it works fine. I have used it to examine many types of rocks and minerals and some of the views are breathtaking. The black light will start to go dim when the battery is low. The white leds will still appear to be fine. However if the black light starts going dim it’s time to replace the battery. Also, always check to make sure that you have turned off the lights when finished. It’s easy to accidentally turn the black light on when turning the white light off, and if you are in a room with other light then you won’t notice the black light is on unless you look right at it. ... show more

This thing doesnt magnify anything. It looks like a cheap toy. Barelt worth 50 cents and smaller than a finger. Not at all what i thought i was getting. They Wont even let me return it. Save yourself 10 bucks!

    • Great on currency, 3D objects not so much.
Despite being advertised for flora and insects this is actually a currency microscope and claims such right on the package. That means it's fine for flat objects, not dimensional ones. The lens has extreme barrelling at the edges and the led is actually a bit too bright. It's still a good value for the money, but not a replacement for my old Radio Shack keychain microscooe as I had hoped. The telescoping lens is entirely manual and may be difficult to adjust. Leaving it fully pushed in seems to be the way to go. If you are looking for a scope for bugs or buds this will likely be unsatisfactory. ... show more

I was so excited to get this, it had lots of good reviews. So so disappointing. The size is a little bigger than a quarter, and mine was damaged, the LED lights didn't work. Trying to put your eye up to see anything is impossible. The microscope lens is less then the size of someone's pupil. You can tell there is magnification but the eye piece to view thru is just way to small. I might have given a 2 star if the lights actually worked but I can't get past the size to try and view a coin thru. I don't know how anyone gave this a high rating. ... show more

I've bought literally 15 different type of scopes here on amazon and this little simple one is great and it's my go to over ones I got that were far more expensive. If you dont need more magnification than it can do this is the one!

It works, it does what it says it does, but the tiny, tiny size was and still is a bit of an issue. The small size affects the ease of use. Edit: as we have used this, I decided to take away 2 more stars. It works, it magnifies, but being so small does make it VERY difficult to use. There are better products out there. This was a total waste of money. Looking through the lens you can't really see anything, no matter how you adjust it. The only way I could get a clear picture is to keep the eye piece about four feet away, which gives you a very tiny, useless picture I could get a better look at with a simple magnifying glass. This thing might be better off used as a cat toy since it does have a little LED light on it. ... show more

I’m not sure what the other reviewer was expecting, but this is exactly what I was looking for, and works perfect for grow room purposes. I was pretty surprised at how small it is when it was delivered, but I kinda like that I always have it on me now. You have to get the buds pretty close to the end of the scope for it work right, but the LEDs help a lot. The only downside is that it’s not an adjustable zoom, but 60x is plenty strong for most purposes. ... show more
