I have a lot of weeds. They're everywhere. Big ones short ones woody and not. So I thought a 13" electric solution made sense. Right out of the box I took it to some weeds on our property. The wimpy string just wasn't up to the task. So I tossed that string in favor of something a little thicker. It we through that in minutes. It seems to have great power but falls seriously short on actual functionality. I gave this 4 stars in my review because overall it is a great little unit. I can't say enough good about this!!....I am 62...I truly don't mind weed whacking now!!....I have almost 1/2 an acre....and it needs to charge about 1/2 way for 20 or so minutes....I like the line feed. Only reason for 4 stars is, holding the button gets your hand tired...wish there was a lock, but for safety I get it. My husband likes the blower better than his gas one...has A LOT of power......but I guess it is all what you want and need.... ... show more

Oh boy, where do I start with this Greenworks 40 volt 13 inch electric cordless weedeater? It's a real game-changer for those who love the smell of burning gasoline and the sound of a deafening motor! But if you're not a fan of the environment or your own hearing, then this product might not be for you. Let's start with the positives - it's cordless! So you won't have to worry about tripping over a cord and doing a faceplant in your own yard. Plus, it's electric, so you can feel good about not contributing to air pollution...until you realize that you're still emitting an obnoxious high-pitched whine that will make your neighbors hate you. The 13-inch cutting width is perfect for those who love the thrill of cutting grass in a straight line. But if you're someone who likes to mix it up with some fancy angles and curves, you might be disappointed. Also, don't expect to trim any heavy-duty weeds with this bad boy - it's more of a delicate flower trimmer. Oh, and did I mention the battery life? It's fantastic! You'll get a solid 30 minutes of use before it dies on you, so you better make every second count. And don't even think about trying to mow your entire lawn with it, unless you're a glutton for punishment. Overall, the Greenworks 40 volt 13 inch electric cordless weedeater is perfect for those who want to be eco-friendly and mildly annoyed at the same time. A bit awkward to use because of the balance but still does the job. I have a very small lawn so it only takes a few minutes to trim. It may be tiresome to use for a duration.

I cannot say enough good things about this trimmer. I have lived alone for 16 years, and I have 1 acre of property to take care of. Every trimmer I have used before was so frustrating. I had to yank the cord so hard, prime the engine, always have gas (the correct mix) on hand, and always have the individual cords ready. Every trimmer I used to own ate through their cords, and it was so frustrating to have to carry the cords in my pocket. Having to stop and add the cords every time one broke was so inconvenient. The other trimmers were so heavy! My last trimmer I actually had to wear heavy snow gloves because it vibrated so much that it hurt my hand so much! Enter this trimmer! I knew when I was shopping for a trimmer what I wanted and what I didn't. This trimmer is TRULY incredible. I love the fact that it does not require any gas or oil. I never have to run to the store just to pick up the cords or the oil mix. I absolutely love the fact that I just have to charge the battery, and it starts up by a press of a button. With my old trimmer, I had to lie the thing on its side, step on it a certain way and yank the cord as hard as I could over and over just to get the thing to start. This is so great also because it has an advancing feature when the cord is cut. You don't have to smack it on the ground like other trimmers just to get the cord to advance. It does it automatically! It is so light weight, so someone like me with not a lot of upper body strength can easily carry it and lift it up and down to aim it correctly. I went the ENTIRE summer without having to replace the spool of cord--making doing the job of trimming/edging so much faster. In fact, yesterday was my first time edging my back yard for spring, and the cord ran out. It was so easy to replace. You just depress the button and slide out the old spool. I thought I'd have to get out the manual to see how to do it, but it was only 2 steps. I cannot say enough good things about this trimmer. I love that the head adjusts into an edger and then you can just move to back to the other position. When I purchased it, it was about 20-25$ more than the regular trimmers I had bought from Home Depot, but I thought it might be worth it because it is environmentally more friendly as it will produce no exhaust and not need oil. Let me tell you that those extra 20$ will purchase you a FANTASTIC product. I am so glad I bought it! I remember years ago I had an electric trimmer that didn't have a lot of power behind it, and the battery died fast. I couldn't even do my entire front yard before it died on me, so getting the back yard done on the same day was out of the question. Not the case with this trimmer! The battery does my entire front and back yard on one charge. I will say that it doesn't go past that though. I remember last year, the total of my front and back yard was its limit. It also has the same (or better) power than my gas trimmer, but without all of the hassle. If you are on the fence with this product, let me assure you--it is WELL worth the money! ... show more

I have this trimmer for over a year now. This thing is a jewel. I really like the versatility of it. Although it's not that light weight it's not to heavy. It edges with a nice clean line. And the engineering on this product that allows a adjustable head for trimming is amazing. I am very happy I purchased this product. I don't remember what I paid for it...but I'm not the type of person who wouldn't consider the cost. And I believe I got my money's worth ... show more

Very light weight compared to gas edgers...easy to start The only thing that I wish was true is it stated no tap weed eater. Otherwise perfect for me.
