  • This is PU and requires higher heat than HTV
I read a bunch of reviews and there is kind of a split and I think I found some common threads with the low star reviews. First off this is NOT vinyl it's PolyUrethane. So it's closer to easyweed super stretch (or whatever they are calling it). It needs more heat to set and has to be cold peeled. A bunch of the folks who have peeling problems are using irons and that may have a hard time getting everything hot enough. Others don't seem to have read the heat settings (printed on the envelope) and are using their "tried and true" HTV settings. That won't work. PU wants 320F, it's not going to bond at 305 or 310. The second big "complaint" is by folks cutting on the backing and not the film. This is semi understandable since HTV generally is full color film on a clear backing and this stuff is a sandwich of color and a white adhesive layer on a clear backing. You have to put the color side down. I screwed that up my self and was frustrated till I did a knife test and realized I had it backward. The PU film is thinner than normal HTV so if anything a lighter touch is needed. If you can't seem to cut through ... you are cutting on the wrong side. I haven't used this long enough to have long term wear results but some reviews have and seem to be holding up. I suspect that most of the experienced users who posted negative reviews were using HTV heat settings and hadn't noticed that this was PU. I know a lot of the newbee negative reviews were cutting on the wrong side. And if you are using a home iron this product may not be for you. Folks who are using heat presses seem to be having better results than folks with home irons. I suspect it's because home irons are not putting out enough even heat and they are only getting partial bonding. Providing this hold up to a bunch of washings I think it's a winner. It cuts like a dream (when I got the film side up!) and weeds very easily. With my hand heat press I did a second press because I though some of it was lifting, but that was probably over cautious. The backing clings more than other HTV and I think it was just stretching the t shirt a bit while I was peeling. As a side plus PU is a lot less toxic than vinyl, it's baby safe (vinyl isn't) and extremely inert. So as long as it's bonder it should last a long time. ... show more

  • Great PU product! Worked well on my project!
Most of the sheets of PU had a white side and colored side. But the first two sheets I attempted to cut were both colored sides (gold sheet, black sheet). If you are not sure which side is meant to be cut, test a corner with your weeding tool. You should be able to determine which side is what. *Don't forget to mirror your image before cutting. When applying the PU to my project bags, I was a little impatient and didn't wait for it to cool completely. This resulted in a poor bond between materials. WAIT TO PEEL!! Don't overheat the PU either. 320F for 10 seconds, according to the packaging instructions. The sheet size was convenient; a good size for various projects types. The variety of colors is awesome; bold and bright. I made bags for the kids in our church group. The bags are supposed to be spot cleaned, so I see the PU design lasting quiet a long time, as long as it adhered well, which I don't see that being an issue. The PU went on so well! ... show more

  • This is the thin matte flexible vinyl that you can afford!
This vinyl is great! I will buy this from now on. It weeds like easy weed, adheres well, and you don’t find small pieces falling off to have to take 20 more minutes to put back on and not stick to your carrier sheet!! I’ve used 2 other cheap vinyls and always disappointed either their really thick and would make someone sweat underneath or they are just junk and have no sticky carriersheet and I’m puzzling my design back together. This works wonders, and it’s all flat as it comes so no need to unroll and tape etc. it’s easy to know how to cut because it’s white on one side and color is on the other and you cut white side up! This was everything I hoped for and more and even came with a see they Teflon sheet and durable folder to store. The vinyl will wrinkle a bit when you wash it made onto a shirt make sure to tell customers to wash inside out and tumble dry! ... show more

  • Best Vinyl for the Money!!
I was soooo suprised at this vinyl. I expected it to be "ok" considering the price but let me tell you, these colors are extremely vibrant. This is the smoothest feeling vinyl I have ever used, it is so soft and so smooth and transfers without any problems. I saw some ppl were saying it was hard to tell which side was which but the backside of the sheets I recieved are white so there's no question as to which side goes down on your mat. The only complaint I would have is that there aren't any duplicate colors. If you're going to be doing a larger project you will need to order more than one pack. Absolutely, l♡ve this vinyl. Will definitely buy this again and again. ... show more

  • Overall good buy.
This product definitely has its pros and cons. Biggest pro: Soooooo easy to weed. It literally was the easiest weeding I've ever done and my project had a lot of small lettering. Pro: affordable color variety. Im a hobbies so I dont use tons. So I'd rather buy smaller sheets of mixed colors. This was perfect for that. Con: First attempt I put the wrong side up on my machine and was so annoyed that I couldn't get it to weed at all. Read some reviews on here and realized I had the carrier on top. It was kind of difficult to tell off hand. But as I said, once I cut the correct side it went amazing. Con: it needs a LOT of pressure to adhere. I had to press the first project a few extra times because it wouldn't stick, even after letting it get completely cold and having my press at 325. Once I figured out the pressure it was fine though and all my other pressings went smoothly. Con: The smell. I dont even know how to describe it, but it STINKS! Once pressed I went back a few hours later to smell the project and it went away, but straight out of the envelope its pretty bad. OVERALL: I say its worth it for me. The weeding and the color variety outweigh the cons, especially since they all were manageable with a little time. ... show more
