  • Not perfect, but good for beginners
If you are curious about the violin and want to spend the least amount of money, this is a good option for beginners. I was attracted to the price and didn't read reviews, I will validate that you will have to pay for shipping if you return it. The sound quality is pretty good. The value for money spent is best defined as you get what you pay for. The first day I got this, the E string snapped so I initiated the return. Because of the distance to the seller and (naturally) the weight, my shipping cost was way more than the price I paid for the violin. So I communicated this to the seller and they agreed to grant me a partial refund and I was able to keep the violin which I appreciated. With the partial refund, I can purchase some high quality strings and shouldn't have any other issues. I will also be purchasing rosin separately because the one that came is a bit dusty. I also must warn that the bridge did not have notches cut out for the strings as it should, but as you install the bridge and tighten the strings, the tension forms the notches.. Just be very careful the strings are spaced nicely. With most inexpensive things, you end up spending a bit of time making them work, that was my experience here.. But at the end of the day, I have a violin and paid a fair price. If you prefer to skip the rigamaro, there are a few for about double the price out there that have better reviews. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied.. Just be aware that in order for a business to make money from an inexpensive item, there may be a difference in manufacture/materials based on what you may expect.. It's cause and effect. I do recommend this product as long as you have the right expectations. ... show more

  • Do not buy: total terrible customer service.
Terrible rip off it literally won’t stay tight enough to play the strings. I have gone back and forth with the seller and literally lost my cool as they are asking questions to keep the dialogue going and not have to return the item hoping I will give up. Its wont work and they want me to take a picture, not sure of what.... the pegs that wont tighten? This is such a cheap item. And then they sent me a label for me to pay. Additionally Amazon is giving me a hard time as its a third party seller. So far over an hour on two chats and one phone call. But now its about the principle. BUYER BEWARE. ... show more

  • Was nice then went bad fast
The violin was rather nice especially for the price. The case is beautiful. But the bow and rosin with it are very poor quality. Going to get a new bow and rosin at a music store. The rosin was not able to spread on and I could not make a smooth sound with what was given nor could my musically inclined boyfriend. The bridge was also poor. We had to cut grooves into it. *** Update*** I’ve used the violin once or twice for five minutes and kept it in its case. The string slipped out of its hole. I can’t play it without fixing it with a professional. ... show more

  • better to use it for kindling
Bought this for 11 year old grandson who loves learning different instruments. It has been very frustrating for him since the knobs that create the tension on the strings for tuning are not threaded so they are constantly loosening. Also the bridge keeps falling out due to the same issue.

  • Seems good for price.
Though the E string was damaged when I opened it, it is good quality for the price. I will be upgrading the parts and have already replaced all the strings.

  • Please don’t buy
When I saw this for only 45 dollars I got it right away it took about a week to come when I opened it there was a hole in the case and the bow had rips I went to try to clean it and the cleaner had cracks in it I did all the steps I had to do and it still didn’t work I will be sending this back and getting my money back please do not buy this I now know when you buy instrument they must cost 100 $ or more ... show more

  • not worth it
When first opening the case I thought it would be decent. The SAME day while trying to play the violin, one of the strings broke. I now have to find another set of strings somewhere. After tightening strings and running the bow across the strings, it barely made a sound but was able to tune it. Not worth the money ... show more
